"Alien" Hopkins vs "Krusher" Kovalev Post fight Discussion thread

Quality analysis from the Hopkins fans in the build-up for this one.

"Old school...Pavlik...deep water...Tito...deep water...Pavlik" over and over and over again like fucking mental patients.

Any non-cliched perspectives on why the fight might go one way or the other are welcome.

I think it comes down to mentality. If Hopkins's mind games and dirty tricks get Kovalev thinking too much and he can drag the fight into the championship rounds, he'll probably win. Any talk about Kovalev not being able to handle movement and boxing is bull**** to me. He knows what to do, it's more a matter of whether he can handle Hopkins's fouling without losing his head.

We'll know when the 1st round is over how this fight is going to go, I think. 2nd at the latest. As intriguing as it is going in, we'll know very quickly what happens.

Kovalev being ducked by Team Hopkins last summer is very unfortunate for Hopkins. He is going to feel the full wrath of Krusher on November 8th. The thing that sucks for Hop is that he can't even outbox Kovalev. Kovalev is the better boxer as well. Expect him to look for a way out as early as the first round, as soon as he realizes he's never fought a fighter similar to Kovalev before.

Sergey Kovalev is better then any boxer Hopkins has ever faced before. Now THAT'S saying something.

Kovalevs above average footspeed will help him to avoid clinching and his punch output gonna be a big problem for Hopkins. I see Kovalev boxing from outside, sometimes lunging in to throw some combos.


Since there are many guys, who think that Bhop "will never lose to a white boy" , and also many guys, who are sure that Kovalev gonna KO Alien, i would like to see a ban bet thread.
