Comments Thread For: Team Gamboa Eye Juanma, Mikey Garcia at 130-Pounds

Former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-1, 16KOs) has two good options waiting for his at super featherweight, Puerto Rico's Juan Manuel Lopez (34-3, 31KOs) and WBO champion Mikey Garcia - according to the Cuban boxer's legal adviser Tony Gonzalez. Gamboa tried his hand in the lightweight division last Saturday night, when he challenged WBO champion Terence Crawford. After looking very good in the first four rounds, Gamboa was dropped four times and stopped in the ninth round. Some felt, including Crawford himself, that Gamboa was too small for the weight. When he entered the ring, Crawford rehydrated to a weight of 152-pounds.

The JuanMa fight...three years late. lol

Anyway, I just want to see Yuri back in the ring again soon. I almost don't care who he fights.

He should fight JuanMa in the battle of glass chins first. Then fight mikey.

Both dangerous fights. One would be a slugfest and the other one would be a decent boxing scrap. I don't think Gamboa is composed enough to be able to beat Mikey, I think his chin might falter as well. Gamboa vs Lopez would be fireworks while it lasts. No way in hell it goes the distance.

I would love the Juanma fight @ 130. (MAKE IT HAPPEN).Both fighters have tons of heart but no ***ing defense..These two fools would be going for home runs from right out the gate..I like Juanma because I think he hits harder than Crawford and If Juanma catchs Gamboa with have the shots he got caught with he wont be getting up..

Agreed to all. And after watching how reckless Yuri was versus Crawford, I have much less confidence in him versus Mikey. I didn't always feel that way. SMH

I'd rather see him fight Garcia, the Juanma fight is done and over with. Neither guy has a good chin but Juanma is done and he wasn't very good to begin with. Garcia ducking the hell out of Gamboa simply made me more interested in that fight because now I know Mikey is scared.

Aint it sad that Juanma would make nothing more than a good feel better bounce back fight now ? Only the usual Ptards would give him anymore of a chance then that. Make it happen Juanma to bounche back then Mikey since Juanma ruined already anyways whats one more beating at least he will make good money

I see it takes a loss for a guy to finally make fights that should have been made years ago... hopefully this happens with Floyd next... maybe if Maidana can actually KO Floyd.. (he won't win a decision in Vegas)

Then Floyd will finally fight Pac like Gamboa will finally fight JuanMa
