It's possible. I've been looking over Bayless reffed fights.
He's let fighters fight it out. He's reffed Salido stopping Cruz. He reffed Maidana vs Soto Karass and didn't screw up the action at all.

I think Maidana will have to operate with a little bit more space between him and Mayweather. If you watch Vargas vs Mosley 2 he's barking at the fighters almost non-stop; if they ever get tangled up he was instantly on them. Rarely did he let them fight out of it.

I thought Weeks did a great job the first fight and let the difficulty and tension play out naturally. It was tough for both guys and they both had to do it the hard way- fight it out. Weeks never swayed the outcome one way or the other.

Maidana via split decision. He's too busy and aggressive for mayweather at this age in my opinion. If mayweather plans to let his hands go more Hes going to be open more and all it will take is one big shot from maidana to have mayweather on unsteady legs.
