I think Maidana will get the benefit of the doubt on the scorecards this time.

I'm not looking for someone to just give Mayweather troubles. I'm looking for someone who has a really good chance of beating him. A true 50/50 match.

I agree this rematch makes me want to puke...I don't believe Mayweather is truely the greatest weve ever seen BUT...if for one second Im wrong, this is the last thing you want to see one of the greats do. Same goes for Pacquiao and ANY rematch.
NOT GOING TO BUY THIS CRAP!

So who you would you want him to fight next?

I also do not want to see a rematch. He has only a few fights left, maybe only one fight left the way Floyd can be. And I really, really, don't want to see it wasted on a rematch.

So according to you, Chino is capable of "relaxing" and keeping the same output from the first fight whilst punching harder? Given the fact that Floyd swept the last half of the fight, what makes you think Maidana will improve anything?

Chino "smothered" his work because that was the game-plan. Get Floyd to the ropes, rough him up and throw bombs. He did all of this, yet failed to hurt Floyd (despite the weight advantage), much less hit him clean. Btw, the fact that you have to point to a SINGLE landed punch by Maidana kinda betrays your "Maidana hit him with more headshots than anyone in recent history" theory.

The Maidana that's capable of following your "plan" exists nowhere but your imagination. The fact you think he can suddenly outbox the best boxer on the planet, says more about you than anything. You think he's capable of beating Floyd in the middle of the ring? Whatever you say. Once Floyd made his adjustments, Maidana was completely neutralized. What makes you think that Floyd won't adjust to whatever gameplan Chino brings to the rematch?
I pointed out the left hook. But overhand rights and jabs were landing. We all know about the first half, but Maidana had some success against Floyd in the latter half of the fight. Round 8. Rounds 11 and 12. Even round 6 and 7 were accentuated by a strong Maidana jab and uppercut to the gut, respectively. You can pretend Mayweather wasn't hit all you want, doesn't make it the slightest bit true.

Maidana will improve because he learns from his losses. Point blank. Against Devon he laid in the clinch, and every fight thereafter he has been a bull there.

Yes the plan was to smother and maul Floyd, and should still be, but he should also throw in volume in other areas besides on the ropes. Combinations are the way to go if you are fighting a guy like Floyd, because you can use them to set up the more powerful significant shots, and odds go up of landing on an elusive target by throwing combinations. Also you are more likely to just make Floyd shell up and lower his output. Win, win. Maidana did not throw all that much in combination in the center of the ring, he landed one shot at a time. A jab, an overhand right, an uppercut, ect. He needs to put them together.. Like say a lunging right uppercut to the body similar to the one he landed followed by a left hook, right hand.. Then left uppercut or jab. He IS capable of doing this. Observe how he took Broner out in the second knockdown of their fight.. A left, right to the body, left combo.

I am not fantasizing. Maidana has proven he is a worthy competitor and surprised many people.... I was one of the voices of reason throughout the whole buildup to the first fight while plebes like you were predicting a 120-108 fight. Now y'all just content yourselves with damage control, trying to minimalize Maidana's first performance and overall quality as a fighter in every way you can fathom with your limited intellects.

Maidana's best rounds were the first 5 or so. Yet 2 of the 3 judges had him losing at that point. Not sure what they were watching. Only 1 judge was watching the right fight.

If the judges score fight #2 the same way, Maidana will have little chance unless he KOs Floyd or knocks him down 3-4 times!

Ive read through all the comments on this thread and this is my personal conclusion..i dont think chino wouldve beat floyd even if he had his gloves BUT it wouldve been more interesting and exciting if he was allowed by floyd and you know anything can hapoen in boxing. Was it a ***** move? Not sure but it doesnt make floyd look good. I think we can agree on that. Also this is purely business move by floyd. He knows this is small risk with big rewards. He isnt scared of chino and can make good money. Cant really blame him for that. I personally wasnt impressed with chino in the fight. Yeah he did better then i thought he would but there wasnt one time in the fight i thought floyd was in trouble. Its just bothersome and probably rub people the wrong way that he would have this rematch when he could wait a lil bit and get a fight that the public would want to see. Since when was lfoyd ever in a rush to get into the ring so quickly again. Would love to see pac vs may but we all know that story
