I still think Arreola, Wilder and Ruiz Jr. could beat him.

People are sleeping on Mike Perez, yes Jennings looks good but this is going to be a very competitive fight IMO.

Perez before and during the Magomed fight looked great and would probably beat Jennings. However, Perez after the Magomed fight looked like he was affected by the fight and looked terrible his last fight and I felt he lost but it was officially a draw. Let's see if Perez has recovered.

Yeah I missed his fight with Takam, he looked that bad? Also, and solely from looking up boxrec, Takam has a good record and did just defeat Tony Thompson.

From what I remember, Perez was looking ok early on but he was nowhere near as aggressive as he could or should have been. In my opinion, he let the fight slip away and Takam was stealing rounds and looked like Takam could possibly seriously hurt Perez because Perez was either exhausted physically or mentally because he was seriously slowing down. Maybe Takam wore him down, who knows. Jennings is a much smaller guy so maybe Perez will look more like himself this time around.

That's true. However I think Jennings is a better matchup for him. Carlos Takam is a tank. He weighed in at 256 pounds but you could still see his abs. Maybe Perez was affected mentally (perhaps even physically) by the Magomed fight, but a big and strong heavyweight with good conditioning like Takam would have been a tough fight for him regardless.

He has had 6 months to rest we'll see how he looks. Jennings has looked very good in his last fight against Szpilka. He was hungry. This is a 50/50 fight in my opinion.

Right on man, thanks for the info. It sounds like Perez was affected by the Mago bout (how could he not?) but let's see if he's back on track now. I'm gonna youtube the fight and give a view.

So what's your verdict on Takam? Is he a rising Heavyweight to look out for?

He should wear G-Star denim lol!
Perez should work on his stamina and come in under 230 pounds.
I think 225 would be the best weight for Perez.

Gennady looks bigger than usually before the fight. He might expected he will fight Chavez.
Anyway weight shouldn't be an issue.
