For all those who THINKS that martinez is the better fighter. He has been dropped in his past four fights. Got a gift decision in his last fight vs murray. Then, a month later after the ricky hatton fight, mayweather retired saying that he has nothing left to prove, meanwhile cotto and him was in the same weight division. He only unretired after cotto lost to margarito, changed trainers, changed his STYLE of fighting, giving up the left hook to the body for a jab and being more defensive.

So in other words Martinez is an overrated hyped up fighter that never really beat any good fighters. None of his big wins were impressive, huh?

It's amazing how you completely dismiss Martinez as a fighter and his entire career. It's very easy to tell that you're a Cotto fanatic so I wonder what kind of excuses you'll come up with if Martinez beats Cotto.

there is a huge contrast in size. cotto's got a decent sized upper body, but his arms are woefully short for the middleweight division.


it's unfortunate, but this fight will be determined by the level of depletion in martinez. if he doesn't have the legs, he may lose these exchanges. cotto has great, great timing.


prime martinez knocks cotto out. surprisingly, and i'd have never believed it two years ago, cotto is the fresher man. martinez style depends on his legs, and they just fell off the deep end.
