LA Times Article - GBP Looks to Be Heading For a Split

I don't know this for a fact, but I will speculate.
Richard Schaefer and Al Haymon are already Road Kill. Forget them. Also...Right now Oscar is introducing candidates for Golden Boy CEO to the representatives of HBO, Showtime, the Casinios and the Sponsors. Oscar may be a drug addict incapable of functioning as CEO of Golden Boy, but he damn sure knows that GBP needs a CEO that:
1. Is willing to work with other promoters to make great fights
2. Is acceptable to other business interests (i.e., spnsores, casinios, networks, etc.)
As such, Oscar probably has more political stroke in the industry right now than any promoter - even Arum - for Oscar is the only entity in the sport who can get the good fights rolling again.
As a result, I think Oscar is going to be successful. I think he'll soon get rid of Schaeffer and announce the new Golden Boy CEO and the fights will again start being made.

And, while I may discuss guys like Schaefer and Haymon....these guys are nobodies - they are just Floyd's Flunkies who have followed his instructions through the years and managed to screw-up boxing. The real war all along is between Floyd and Boxing - that he wants to control so he can cherry-pick his fights.
Well, Floyd and his buddies have no allies now. They are going to fail.

Floyd will now be without any meaningful allies. HBO, Showtime, Arum, Oscar, the Sponsors....they are all probably aligned against him, or should be. I bet even the sanctioning bodies are in on this, too.

I almost want to see Canelo loose just to **** Oscar. And I'm a huge Canelo fan. But Oscar don't have the balls to finish off Top Rank. I bet Schaefer looks at Oscar like he's a weak *****. The dude check himself into rehab the week of the biggest fight of the year last year lol. He ain't got the balls for promoting. He's too soft.
