Comments Thread For: Andrzej Fonfara: 'I can handle' Adonis Stevenson's power

Andrzej Fonfara faces the toughest task of his career Saturday night.

He'll fight lineal light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson on Showtime in the fighter's hometown (Montreal), and the crushing power that the 36-year-old carries.

Stevenson scored a KO 1 over Chad Dawson last summer to wrest the crown, and has since defended it with impressive stoppages over Tavoris Cloud and Tony Bellew.

I like Fonfara by tko in this fight. It might not be a popular pick but he's a tall tough Polish fighter on a nice little streak. He can punch and I don't believe in Stevenson's chin. Fonfara has the size punch and resilience to make this a REAL fight, not a tune up.

i hope so...nothing would make happier than to see Stevenson lose in his first fight under Haymon and Showtime

I foresee one physical attribute making that difficult

If this guy by some miracle pulls it off Showtime will end up looking ****** as fk, there is a lot of pressure on Adonis to hold on to his belt and do so in impressive fashion. You know they paid some serious dough to move him to showtime..he's got a lot of pressure to perform.

We're probably never going to get Stevenson vs Kovalev so it wouldn't bother me if Fonfara pulled it off... it will actually be hilarious. I don't like to accuse fighters of ducking especially since Stevenson got more money from Showtime but that interview he gave after beating Bellew where he wished us a happy new year in November convinced me he didn't want it with Kovalev atall!!!!

After Fonfara rocked Superduck, we all know why Kovalev was deserted.

Gotta hand it to Fonfara. He did take the power and almost took Stevenson out. Shouldn't have stepped on the gas

I can't believe he took that kind of punishment. Huge props because he was seriously hurt a few times.
