MMA fighter quits so opponent dont get beat up

Im not big on mma but i came across this story moral of story is the kid was beating the kid to a pulp and quit to help the kid. Thought was good story

If you're that superior to your opponent then you carry him until the fight finishes. A big punch or surprise submission is possible. I don't like what he did, ******.

I saw that, nice gesture an all, but thats kind of the wrong sport for compassion. But it is better than the knocking someone out with one punch or kick then seeing them fall to the ground and still jump on them and hit them with 4-5 more punches in the face while they are already out cold. Thats what turns me off to the sport. Like this here..........

Completely agree with you guys. Obviously the kid is a decent human being, but he needs to choose another sport. Killer instinct is vital in the combat sports. Anything less can get you hurt or killed. In this case, he just forfeited the fight. But, then, what's the point of competing?

Keep in mind this was an amateur fight and a huge mismatch. Saying the guy who was winning needs to find a new sport is a bit over-reacting.

The ref should have stopped it. The guy getting beat on turned his back to his opponent TWICE. That alone fits the definition of 'not intelligently defending yourself'.

That was probably his opponents plan all along
His opponent should start trash talking him in the media saying hes ducking a rematch now that the fight has big exposure

saw that and got mixed emotions.....on one hand I can understand the kid's act of compassion but this is the wrong Sport for that type of ish....there's ways he could've still been compassionate and still behaved like a fighter as Teddy always says.....dude should take lessons from Pac.....imagine Pac taking a knee while giving Marg the Business.......GTFOH!!....dude should forget fighting and be a gardener or something

Good post. I completely agree. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather have done this. I remember Mayweather did this to Cotto, in I think round 11, he hurt Cotto really bad with an uppercut I think and instead of jumping on Cotto he just backed off completely and let him recover. I can't remember which opponent it was for Pacquiao but it was a complete blowout and Pac kept looking back at the ref as if to tell him to stop the fight... I think it might have been Cotto too..
