Outboxing him? Yea, no, no that's not happening.

A body shot ko win or a win from aggression is feasable but he will not outbox him.

Martinez’s passion during faceoff? Really? To me, Martinez just seemed to be answering the questions matter-of –fact, as posed. As far as getting into Cotto’s head, this isn’t Cotto’s first PPV fight. So I doubt very much that would be the case. After all, this is a fight Cotto pursued. In my humble opinion, I don’t think Sergio came close to fazing Miguel. And as far as Cotto speaking Spanish to Sergio instead of English, I think he wanted to make sure Sergio got his drift without equivocation. This, in light of Sergio having difficulty distinguishing the difference between being side B of the equation, and being a level B fighter, which was never brought into question as he mistakenly thought.

It was clear that Martinez did not understand the business side of boxing. The things he was mad at was petty.

Why is Cotto out boxing Martinez not feasable? Cotto is a better technical fighter than Martinez who is unorthodox and relies on angles, movement, and reflexes to defend. I think Cotto will have success boxing and being aggressive against Martinez. I think the size difference is an advantage for Cotto. Martinez does better with taller slower fighters. How he'll perform against Cotto's style is unknown.

Is it more important to have a really good trainer, or a really good gym (competitive sparring) like Kronk, Wild Card, Gleason's, etc.?
I would say both: a GREAT trainer who can motivate, strategize & TEACH via the GOOD gym work you're getting in.....

Sergio was talking about tradition (how the fight game supposed to be), something that MOST "fans" throw to the wayside ESPECIALLY when it comes to THEIR fighter. Nothing petty about that. With that said, I hope Cotto gets fcuked up something awful - just because a douche screwed you over, doesn't mean that you have to become one yourself, UNLESS you were already one to begin with.......

Sergio owned Cotto in the faceoff IMO. He had Cotto stumbling around, very passive, had no comebacks to speak of. As for the 'details', I think it's pathetic when the champ is introduced first. Cotto should have never demanded that crapola. As for the 'b side', I think Sergio was/is just demanding respect he doesn't feel he's getting, and rightly so. Most impressive with Sergio is how he brought up Cotto's disrespect for the 'little' people around him. He makes a good point that the kids who see Cotto's nasty attitude will be influenced negatively by it. That's the biggest reason why I can't stand Floydie, Bonehead, Arreola.

I agree with the style mesh being unknown. That much is obvious. My point is that if Cotto relies on strictly outboxing a bigger, faster and better pure boxer, he has virtually no chance to win. He didn't even try and box with Floyd and that pretty much sums it up.

I don't think Roach is right for Cotto at the moment tbh, it seems like Pedro Diaz would be more likely to prepare him well for the kind of boxing match he'll have to engage in to beat Martinez. If he wants to go out and really fight Martinez then Roach is a good choice. But how good of an idea is fighting Martinez.
