Comments Thread For: Arum Reacts To Chavez Jr.'s Manager, Details Situation

Top Rank's CEO, Bob Arum, is furious with some of the statements that were made by Billy Keane, manager of former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in an earlier article on krikya360.com. Earlier today, Keane reached out to BoxingScene to respond to an earlier interview with Arum.

For several weeks, Arum and his company were attempting to finalize a July HBO Pay-Per-View event, where WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin would have faced Chavez at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds. The main sticking point, which caused the fight to fall through, was a clause in the bout agreement which extended Chavez's contractual obligation to Top Rank.

If the contract really ends in October 2015, then Bob makes a good point. It's not really technically an extension.

Arum has boxing writers on his payroll? Remember hearing that before.

Thats what i was always thinking, a 2 fight contract would have to be over in 1.5 years. Also did Arum guarantee Bradley 10 mil for a rematch, i dont remember hearing that

In the best traditions of a Mexican soap opera we have this never-ending story. What will be in the next episode?

Seriously though, Bob makes valid arguments that make sense but Jr's manager so far provides a weak come back with no valid points... So far 2-0 in favor of Bob. And this makes Jr look ****** and a duck. Really really ******.
