That is what we call a failure. Floyd has to get 1mil plus just to get a return on his investment yes? I really did think Chino would be able to help him though. Welp...back to fighting Mexicans lol.

If the number turns out to be 800K-900K, Mayweather will be about 100K PPV buys behind Oscar De La Hoya for most PPV sales all-time. Oscar sold 13.85M in 19 fights (no streaming), Mayweather has sold 13.7-13.8M in 12 fights (streaming era).
Mayweather is unbelievable. People hate him for only selling 800K-900K. A "boring" fighter in a "mismatch" against an Argentine. 800K-900K. That's something else. I expected Pac-Clottey numbers at best.

First of all when more people watch the replay they will see how ineffective Maidana actually was. So since the undercard and the opponent didn't help the PPV sell more than the card last year, it's pretty much worthless to re-spawn the same opponent.
Bud, Floyd won't be bullied into being cornered in the ropes getting hammered with hooks to the ribs and on top constantly throughout the fight if he wasn't hurt.
It's called effective aggression. Floyd was back pedaling and getting cornered.
Why?
Coz it hurts so bad getting hit by Maidana punches.Last edited by Spoon23; 05-17-2014, 09:49 PM.

I don't give a damn if your name is Pacquiao, or Mayweather, or what the fuck ever. To get 900,000 people to sit down and pay $70 to watch you, is amazing.
Those numbers are great, its only floyd's huge guarantee that makes it look bad... Floyd-maidana still did double what any roy jones ppv...
To truely have blockbuster numbers, there needs to be 2 huge draws..
Floyd-canelo
floyd-cotto
floyd-shane
floyd-jmm
manny-cotto
tyson-lennox
tyson-holyfield
holyfield-lennox
oscar-tito
Those are the huge blockbusters but they all have 2 fighters that could each headline a ppv on its own... Thats the difference.. Guys like maidana, ghost arent going to headline a ppv on their own...
You need 2 stars to create a blockbuster...

Another money loser for Showtime. How's that $32 million guarantee looking now. And I laugh at the people who said Canelo didn't bring any fan base with him PPV number wise. We've seen 2 flops financially for Showtime out of 3 fights.

For goodness sake.
So much ******s here.
This ppv numbers only shows Floyd's asking rate of 32 million per fight doesn't mirror what showtime wants to sell to at the least break even. Which is 1.5 million ppv buys coming from showtime exec estimate.
Mayweather has had the luxury of Garcia, Matthysse, Khan and Broner over at show time, and with this supporting cast. And bills to pay for these talents.
His ppv is a dispointment because it shows his guarantee doesn't translate to reality of his real drawing power.
He needs a known legit contender to break a million. Like canelo, otherwise he just sells 400-500k on his own. ( the remaining is from the stacked undercard ).
This is reality. Plus the fact that Floyd's stock is plunging to new lows. The cat is out of the bag. This fraud has been exposed for all his shenanigans, trickery, excuses and uneven playing field.Last edited by Spoon23; 05-17-2014, 10:03 PM.
