hell no. maidana flat as a pancake. he did have mental toughness and stuck to his gameplan of putting pressure every round. he knew mayweather backs off in a straight line, maidana cuts him off with relative ease and lands those hooks to the head and body. maidana should've won it. 43-3 baby

Excuses, excuses. Doesn't matter what bs he came up with. If he plods around the ring, that means he's slow. Nobody has it all. Kahn is one of the fastest but he's not as rugged as Maidana. Rios is even more rugged than Maidana but slower as well. You can't pretend the fighter you like has it all.

Are you serious Floyd schooled maidana, 92% of media scored it for floyd. I guess a cut for floyd means he loses the fight.

It's a George Forman kinda thing. Hes deceptively quick but won't out speed someone faster then him. But that's how he hurts people from those awkward angles you gotta have some kinda speed or incredible timing to land those weird ass shots.

Under Garcia, Maidana is greatly improved and is a much better boxer than he's given credit for.

If you never boxed a average soth paw but did well with fast righty's. You know that its not the speed of the southpaw that's whipping you. Your just not accustomed to having quick reflexes for those angles. There ain't NOBODY that shoots punch's from crazy angles like Madiana. Mayweather made a conscious decision to fight Madiana where Madiana is at his best. He thought he could beat him at his own game. Its worked before why not now? It didn't work and took some time for him to recover from his mistakes, but he did a good job. He could of won making a boring fight, but he DIDN'T. I enjoyed the fight, but somehow felt lied too.

I've seen Maidana fight live twice, and I'll tell you right now he is very fast. The TV doesn't do him justice but trust me he has really fast hands especially his overhand right.

Its not excuse its point of fact... he was unmotivated for the Devon fight. He was listless in the 100+ clinches in that fight, even with 1 arm free. He simply lacked the energy to fight out of the clinch. Compare then how he is a bull in the clinch in both the Broner and Mayweather fights, which are two fights he was VERY motivated for. Anyone that fails to realize the difference is either a fool a hater or both.

as to Maidana....he cant do everything. He doesnt fight going backwards as well. But he showed in the Mayweather fight he has an admirable skillset that is largely unheralded by his critics. That is the most obvious case... but he's been exhibiting his comparative versatility departing from a "face first brawler" archetype for a WHILE now, for those willing to open their eyes and SEE
