I'm curious how you managed to "give" Maidana 4 rounds -- because during the fight you scored nearly all rounds in Floyd's favour... !?!

The hell are you talking about? That was my score at the end of the fight. I think you need to look at my posts during the round by round discussion.

You do not need to be smart to score fights.

Judging a boxing match is a subjective exercise, but there are rules.

Clean punching: A clean punch is one that lands on a scoring area (face or side of head, not including the back of the head; the front and sides of the torso) with the knuckle portion of the glove.

Effective Aggressiveness: Effective aggression is demonstrated when a fighter presses forward, and in doing so, scores more clean punches, or more damaging blows, than his opponent.

Ring Generalship: ability to control the pace and style of a fight is ring generalship. For instance, a high volume-punching brawler will attempt to force a "stick and move" boxer into a slugfest.

Defense: Defense is the ability to avoid punshment by dodging, blocking etc.


Now , why don't you try and score the fight yourself, Mr Sarcasm?

The remotest chance Maidana had to win the fight consisted in performing a KO (or some knock downs)...
That remotest chance was swiped out as the money team denied Maidana the right to use the commission approved MX gloves -- while forcing him to use the pillow Protech gloves instead...

winning 7 rounds to 5.

Maidana landed more power punches in the fight 185 to Floyd's 178
and outlanded Mayweather in 6 out of the 12 rounds.

Maidana also was the ring general for most of the fight, taking the
fight to the ropes for large proportions of the fight.

He also was the aggressor, and it was effective aggression.

Maidana certainly had the better of 3 of 4 criterias of how to judge a
boxing fight.

Which makes it all the more so troubling that a couple of the judges
scored it so wide for Mayweather.

I was honestly shocked that Showtime commentators were saying this fight was so close in the mid rounds. Based off of clean Mayweather shots, I knew the judges would have wide cards in his favor and piss everyone off.

I agree with the bolded, and that's why I can go as far as respect a 115-113 in Floyd's favor, although giving Maidana 5 rounds out of ring generalship alone is a stretch imo.

For the rest, I have to disagree. Maidana wasn't being effective (apart from the cut caused by a clash of heads) and wasn't landing clean shots.

Could have been 6-6 or 7-5 either way. Great fight. Need a rematch.

And that's cause I gave Floyd the 3rd round just cause hes Floyd.

No robbery at all.

I had Maidana up 4-2 after six, but have a hard time giving him a round after that.

8-4 Mayweather. Close but clear.
