Well it's not a story,lol.....it's a fact that Bouie Fisher and other members of the Hopkins Camp accussed Tito's camp of illegal wrapping and made him rewrap.........FACT.
Several people that night claimed that Tito senior pleaded that he had always wrapped his hands that way......which at that time was perfect legal, but only in Puerto Rico....because numerous people said this and Tito Senior never really denied saying it......I have to believe this is TRUE.
With that said Tito was a great fighter and we'll never really know what impact that type of wrapping did for his career, if in fact, he had been wrapped like that nearly his entire career.
The fact that he only went 2-3 after the incident and soon retired probably didn't help much....but he was older and fighting bigger...still a great fighter.

LOL. Tito's wraps were VEGAS LEGAL... A technicality as they were fighting in NYC. Tito's father is on record saying Hopkins camp wanted to make Tito's wraps into pillows. Nothing but mind games by Hopkin's camp. Tito chased Hopkins for a rematch and they declined for over 2 years.
Talk to me about Bernard's 30 plus headbutts in that fight if you really want to talk about "cheating."

Tito didn't cheat. The guy crushed people at 147-154. His punches lost power because he moved up to 160.

BHop didn't want to give him the rematch because he exhausted his bag of tricks as well as the cheating head butts in their first fight.
BHops still too busy crying about the lesson in boxing that Joe Calzaghe gave him. BHop will make sure tog et the fight with Stephonson because he will avoid Kovalev at all costs.
I always thought that Tito with another trainer would've been close to unstoppable. He had crushing power at 147-154 and if he had stayed at 147 and never moved to 160 he would've dominated WW for over a decade.Last edited by Tarl of Bristol; 05-03-2014, 11:22 AM.

For the record, I was going for Tito that night...but mentioning Hopkins headbutts is kind of deflecting the topic and showing a level of bianess that superceeds right from wrong with either fighter.
speaking of wrong ^^^^^ it was his left hand that was already wrapped prior to Hopkins camp arriving...when felt/lifted, they said it was far too heavy...that's why it was teh LEFT HAND that was rewrapped. And the whole incident wasn't by accident....Bouie's people had he a su****ion prior to....appearently another trainer had said check his left prior to because it was wrapped without them viewing it and they just had some su****ions of their own.
Wrong again^^^^ it was not upto par with the State of Nevada Standards, HOWEVER, NEVADA is totally irrelevant becuase they DID NOT fight in Nevada, they fought in NEW YORK. It was not up to par there either, which is why the fight was almost cancelled and eventually, despite their own reluctance, Tito's Camp was FORCED not only to rewrap by the Commissioner, but to wrap with less tape and no direct contact.
I'm not chitting on Tito by any means, but you can't something didn't happen just becuase you like the guy. It happening is not debatable, perhaps the impact it had on his greatness could be....but that's not what I'm getting at.

a simple google search would have given you this info.
