Matthysse Dominated That Fight and I think Improved As A Boxer In The Process

I keep hearing people saying he didn't look good, went life and death, etc. Well let's look at it logically instead of that fanboy emotional **** that every female that posts here is on about.

Rd 1, Not much Happened, Molina momentarily stunned Matthyse got the rd.

Rd 2 Not much happened again, matthysse was getting warmer, and bam got tagged by two big hooks.

Rd 3, Matthysse gets going a little better

Rd 4 Matthyse continuing to warm it up and take over

Rd 5 Matthysse beginning to dominate then bam behind the head sht

    Rd6-11 Matthysse domination

What do we know about Matthysse? He's a slow starter. Always has been.

One thing that was bugging me early on was Matthysse's footwork. He's always been a bit wild at times and loses balance, but early in this fight its as if his legs simply weren't going where he wanted them too, and it was getting him caught with that hook, when in previous fights he would step back. Im guessing it was ring rust, because later in the fight he showed some great footwork and step back defense.

Now on to how I think Matthysse in this fight alone has now improved his game. Specifically his infighting. As aggressive and attacking as he has always been, his inside game has never been top notch. As the fight went on he started using his body to roll into his punches, gain leverage, have the upper hand and a view of everything that was going on. It's as if something clicked for him, and you could see it in the fight, because it's when he really started brutalizing Molina.

I also would like to applaud the use of his jab later in the fight.

People are going to blindly say, oh Matthysse, that one trick pony. Can't mix it up. Well no, he's not going to ever box off the back foot, it's not his game, but if you didn't see what I saw above, rethink your assessment skills, because he fully changed his approach throughout the fight.

Let's not forget Garcia was as big as a favorite and looked like a one trick pony in the schooling Herrera put on him. Garcia never tried to change it up.

oh but he a boxer doe
oh but he fights off the back foot doe
oh but he can counter punch doe

it was molina's power what kept the fight close, dude can punch. in the second half matthysse came strong and landed at will.

it was molinas counters & the way he was playing the distance on lucas early on that rattled him (not just his power) overall lucas struggled with a D class molina before the stoppage. i mean he had to work extra hard for the win (to say that lucas dominated is just being blind)

            How didn't he dominate?

He lost he first two rds and won every other minus a bogus KD. There were some competitive rds early, but 5th-11th were all Matthysse. He then proceeded to knok him down 3 times before putting him completely out. How is that not domination? What am I missing?

Apart from the 2 knockdowns (only one was legit), I couldn't give any other rounds to Molina. Molina stunned him in the first, but I still gave that one to Matthysse. Matthysse was more active, landed more punches in every round and the compubox numbers illustrate that. He beat him down.

I don't know if he improved as a boxer though. He definitely could have used the jab more early on.

                dominate? no, that didn't happen.

molina got worn down after continual lucas punishment however.

Molina'a counter hooks are fast, fluid, and powerful.

I dislike the Matthysse tards as much as anyone but that was a solid dominant win.

The first knockdown was a flash knockdown and the second one was some BS.

Really good fight, Matthysee looked faster than usual.
