Posters need to understand that what we as diehard fans may like differs from what casual fans want to buy. If you put a fight on ppv, it better appeal to us and them, but them much more than us.
The truth is this rematch didn't need to happen. Manny won the 1st fight clearly. For months if you browsed this site all you saw was Manny fans KILLING Tim, saying he lost, he ******, he was boring, he didn't deserve to be p4p, etc. Bob killed Tim as well in the media, discrediting the win. What do you think casual fans who visit the site to keep up take from that?
Only later after it was signed did Bob and those same people try and make this a great matchup between top fighters. Maybe the damage was already done. Casual fans are not as ****** as some here suggest. They can read, they can think.
Card will still be the 3rd or 4th biggest ppv card of the year, which shows Manny still has a good base of support and will draw. But if Bob projected 1 mil and this fight stays below 700k, hopefully failing to meet expectations facilitates change that benefits us fans.

I bought this at the last second. Was tight on money these next few months with work being done on my car, but I said whatever at the last second.
Arum will no doubt lie about the numbers, not reporting the revenue the fight did. If it's around 700K, that doesn't bode well for Manny in the future. He's not going to generate many buys unless he fights Marquez for the millionth time or Mayweather.
