Had he only weighed about 150, then I'd assume he'd have jumped on the scales. Since he did not it's free to speculate that he was much heavier and that speculation then carries some weight. No pun intended.
I never speculated on the Hatton fight. Only the post retirement JMM fight.
I know you're only speculating Marquez but you're saying he needs a reason not to weigh himself. So what were the reasons all the other times?
Obviously it's free to speculate just as it is anytime a fighter doesn't weigh themself but it's pretty obvious from the multiple weights we have of his over the past 8 years that 150 is his weight unless even time he hasn't weighed himself he's magically finding 10+ lbs from somewhere which obviously is a ridiculous notion.

I mean the last thing in the world that wins Mayweathers fights is his strength. His skill just isn't enough. He has to be smaller (underdog), stronger (badass), harder puncher, etc. Enough is enough.
And to the guy above, no. Cotto would fight on the back foot like he has whenever he has been pressured in his career.
He knows fighter are going to underestimate his strength because of his style, in fact he banks on it. How many fighter have we seen try press Floyd only to be gassed by round 6 or 7. After the mid round Floyd like a fisherman will allow his opponents to tire them selves out trying press, wrestle in a attempt to ware him down. The real way to beat floyd is to use the jab to build up points, and match him down the stretch when he decides to open up. Do that and you have a good chance of beating him. Try pressing him or trying to KO him early and your done by round 5 .

so Floyd Sr. wasn't lying when he said his son could make 140....but if you ever seen Floyd in person you can see he's a little dude....looks like I can take his lunch money
