Watching the Canelo-Angulo fight right now. They've had a boxing marathon on the CBS Sports Network today. Perro was tailor-made for Canelo. Lara's not standing there and trading like that. I really don't see Alvarez dealing with Lara's movement and counter-punching very effectively. Making me feel better about the fight tonight.

lol True. Lara had his hands full and Canelo ripped Perro. No doubt. But Angulo was able to stalk Landy I don't think Canelo can do the same. As it turns out, Alvarez had a better match than Lara.

According to Compubox, Canelo threw 513 punches against Angulo. Even when he's fighting against a guy who solely comes forward, he still doesn't throw all that much. Against Trout, he threw 431 punches. Against Floyd, he threw 510. It's possible that Canelo doesn't gas since Lara is also economical with his output. However, if Lara starts to clearly outbox Canelo, he hasn't shown the stamina needed to switch gears. I don't think we'll see the blistering combinations that he's known for because Lara will rarely ever be in range for them to land consistently. His best chance is to hurt/finish Lara with one punch.

Not if you watched the Molina and Hernandez fight. Only difference is, Angulo can punch. And the only question was, would the old Perro show up or not.
