I've posted this way back, but it still bears repeating.

Pacquiao is not afraid to get into the ring with Mayweather any more than Mayweather is afraid of Pacquiao. The true reason for this fight not happening is Bob Arum.

Ellerbe whom even though I can't stand, had a good point. He said, Arum didn't want the fight with Floyd because if both promoters made a deal, Arum would have to open the books on how much money Pacquiao truly generates. Pacquiao and his people will see those numbers (which were pretty similar to Floyd's) and compare how much Manny's taking home and how much Floyd is. They will see Floyd's taking home millions and millions more, and then Pacquiao will see just how much Arum has been screwing him over the years.

This is why Bob Arum handles all Pacquiao fights in house, and has forced all Pacquiao opponents to leave their promoter to fight with Top Rank because he doesn't want to open up the books to other promoters.

That fight was going to generate at or around 300 million. So that's a split of approximately 85 / 15. Further, what people don't know about the business don't realize is that 40 million wouldn't have to be split with Pacquiao's promoter, whereas normally, when Pacquiao makes 25 million for aa fight is after Aaron takes his cut. If a straight 40 million dollar fee is going to Pacquiao, and Erin is not involved in the promotion, then Arum would take a standard 25 or 30 which is generally what is done when a promoter has a promotional agreement with a fighter but that promoter is not involved in the promotion of the fighters fight. So after and takes his cut, Pacquiao would have seen about 25 or 30 million. At or around what he makes for a normal fight, despite the fact that a fight with Mayweather would generate double or triple the amount of revenue

Care to explain how you arrived at that figure? Even if the fight gets 4m PPVs, and at say ave of $75.00, it will be $300m but take the 50% cut of distributors, that will be only $150m.
