Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas: "Khabib's titles are staying in Las Vegas"

krikya360.com recently caught up with undefeated junior welterweight prospect Jessie Vargas who is just days away from challenging for his first world title. On April 12th he will face WBA/IBO junior welterweight champion Khabib Allkhverdiev on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley televised pay-per-view undercard in Las Vegas.

Vargas, who now trains under the tutelage of Ismael Salas, said that he has had a great training camp and that he can't wait for fight night. Salas also trains former champion Jorge Linares and has trained many other champions.

Really excited for this one. Should be a good competitive scrap. I think Vargas shocks the world and takes the ud buy out working landing the cleaner punches.

Khabib is actually a pretty good fighter. This is his first big opportunity on a big card so I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled it out either. He's the goods just hasn't been promoted properly yet

true but i think vargas should have stepped up earlier his names been out there for years back when mayweather was hyping him

I like Vargas but I think people were really high on him because he was with floyd. Maybe it was unjust. He's a decent fighter good speed decent power. He's stepped it up his last couple of fights. So we shall see a win against khabib brings him the belt and a bigger fight. Last thing he needs is him dropping a dud performance like against josesito
