Comments Thread For: Bradley's Trainer Says Pacquiao's Career Nears End

Joel Diaz, the trainer of WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, feels Manny Pacquiao, a champion in eight divisions, is nearing the end of his long career. Diaz is not convinced that Pacquiao is back to being the same fight who stopped Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.

Diaz sees Pacquiao in the same light as Bradley does - a boxer who no longer has that drive and killer instinct. While Bradley views Pacquiao as a fighter who is too compassionate, Diaz views Pacquiao as a fighter who's been affected by a long, tough career.

Of course hes near the end after a tough career, even Pac hasn't pretended to think otherwise.
But for now he competes because he still wants to. And should have enough to beat even a pretty good fighter like Bradley.

Obviously MANNY is near at the end of his ATG CARREER but he can ever beat easy a tough guy like RIOS (not so easy to beat) and beat AGAIN your guy,DIAZ!!!

it’s a well known fact that pac is near the end of his vibrant career. but even a past prime pac can beat most if not all in the welterweight division including fraud.

Agree with the sentiment that Pacquiao should being to consider retirement in the near future. I'm not concerned about this fight with Bradley. If Pac still looks good against Bradley, I'd say Pac should try to get the Marquez rematch in the fall. If not, Pac should take the best fight he can get (aka whomever is the best option under contract with Arum.) Then Pacquiao should leave Top Rank and take a final fight against Mayweather if he can make that fight. If not, then Pacquiao should retire at the end of this year.

Agree however I don't think Pacquiao or Mayweather can afford to wait any longer. If Pacquiao looks good against Bradley they need to just get it done before it's too late.

Mayweather will be screaming in a few years once retired about how he would've whooped Pacquiao.... my response- why didn't you then?

It will kill Mayweathers legacy if this fight doesn't happen.

                  Pac/Bradley 2nd fight

Pac is def on the decline. Bradley has improved since the first fight. I hope Pac can get his body, and mind in shape. And focused this time around. He didn`t look to be in top shape last time. And all his focus appeared to be on his rededication to god. I respect all religions. But the moment a fighter starts to rely on god to show him special favor. The fighters foot seems to ease up on the gas. And the expectation that a higher power will fill the training void, kicks in.
