Comments Thread For: Beristain: Marquez Would Fight Bradley, Beat Him ‘Again’

Juan Manuel Marquez returns to the ring on May 17 at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., against Mike Alvarado, but Nacho Beristain intimated Wednesday that the ultimate goal is down the line.

“I’ve had (Juan Manuel) with me since he was 12 years old,” the Mexico City-based trainer said at a news conference announcing the fight. “He’s been fighting for 21 years. Certainly, I’d like to see him retire healthy and be able to enjoy the money’s he made. But right now the most important thing is for him to become the first Latin American fighter to win world titles in five weight classes.” [Click Here To Read More]

Look, I love Juanma, he's one of my all time favourite fighters! The guy is one if the best fighters of his generation and a terrific combination puncher..

That being said, I'm not going to say I lost respect for him for continuing to say that he beat Bradley. He's an ultra competitive guy who's probably used that drive to succeed in his career, but repeating the statements are getting a little old, and may negatively impact fans perceptions of the previous Pacquiao fights!

What I'm trying to say is that Tim clearly beat Juanma, and to repeat the robbery statement the same way he done against manny may take the shine off them, inadvertently!

Regardless I'll continue to be a fan of the guy, I don't want him to rematch Bradley though, much like Cotto against Trout, I just feel it's a bad matchup stylistically and athletically against him!

Yeah, its getting annoying, Bradley clearly beat him. He is so lucky Manny "Knock Himself" out by jumping in his right hand recklessly.

Marquez and nacho still have a bitter taste in their mouths, and it's not just from drinking piss. Their poor sportsmanship still amazes me even though its expected.

Only Mexican relatives of Cryquez think he was robbed.
