It's disappointing for fans, I agree. But in the era of PPV network competition, I expect to see more of this for a long time.

It's sad man. For these guys as competitors. What happened to the era were oscar,Tito,Mosley,Vargas, hopkins all fought each other and the even better fights that Duran hearns hagler and Leonard gave us. Only in fn boxing. The true hardcore fans like all of us on here are use to being disappointed. To many people involved now.maybe that's a little dramatic but personally I'm pissed off looking like we won't get what would of been a great fight. A true test for both men

We'll know soon if HBO is going to blow Stevenson-Kovalev. They have a deadline coming to match Showtime's offer for Stevenson-Fonfara.

HBO coulda wrapped up Stevenson 2-fight deal while ago but got really cheap all of a sudden and it looks like it'll come back to haunt them.

wow, hbo clanger, guys tune in to the NSB radio show in 25 mins to listen and call in about this topic

I don't understand why HBO got so cheap. Kovalev and Golovkin are the best things they have going.

                    THANK YOU!

not to mention the fact that if he goes to showtime he is likely going to fight a hundred times better and more accomplished fighter in hopkins instead.

NSB, where fighting a better fighter for more money is a duck somehow.

Well, that fight can still take place just it will be a longer route there which is disappointing but that is the breaks. Sucks that HBO got tight with the purse strings in what looked to be their best fight.

Hopefully both can keep winning and the match-up can happen a bit down the line
