you have to pick klitschko. you have to.

you can acknowledge that wilder has a chance of stopping him, because he does. you have to pick klitschko going into the fight based on his resume and ability. he has shown more.

all wilder has done is knock dudes out with bombs. you need to show me that you can do more than that to beat a hall of famer.

IF wlad were to lose to WIlder that would be as bad as losing to Leapai. Wilder's record is a complete joke that only fans who love power or KO's are impressed by.

He has power but hasn't shown anything to suggest he could beat wlad.

add in speed, too. wilder is not a coordinated boxer at this stage. he just hasn't been doing it for long enough. he's a coordinated athlete, doe. he's very fast. he has fast ahnds and feet, even if his timing and balance aren't good in the boxing sense.

there's footage of him playing basketball flying around. he doesn't look like a truely great basketball player [or even a top division one player,] but you get to see a huge man who can move like a smaller one.

wladimir himself said that wilder was one of the fastest guys he's ever fought or sparred.

when you add in that wilder is taller and has a longer reach than wladimir, you have to acknowledge that he's got talent that extends beyond power. does that make him a preordained champion? no. it just means that he's talented, and has a dynamic physical toolbox.

why does wilder punch hard? in part because he's 6'7", 230 lbs, has a 7 foot reach, and is fast. that's what a talented HW can do.

what you really ahve to worry about at HW is the chin. one big punch can send a chinny HW onto the downside of his career.

I can respect what wlad has said but I have also painfully endured wilder's career, especially his last few fights.

I just don't see anything that makes me think he can beat a top HWT. Yes, his power is a significant factor as are some of the other attributes you pointed out.

In with wlad he will have to deal with his skill, his holding to protect himself, his power, three things none of his opponents have shown.

I can't disagree that he is the epitome of "punchers chance".

I could pick Wilder, but I would be doing so knowing I am taking the underdog. If I had a gun to my head and my life was on the line Wlad would obviously be the guy to pick, I would be nervous as hell all 12 rounds though.

Wilder is trash, Wlad would wreck him.

Some of you have to be joking, surely. It is awesome that we have a guy from America (and the southeast at that!) that's a legit fighter bringing home a belt. Sadly though, he isn't even the second best in the division. Let's be real - both Povetkin and Pulev would beat Wilder handily. I'm honestly not sure that Wilder would handle Arreola.

I'd like to see Wilder take on a few more guys and develop into a household name and true fighter before he takes on Wladimir. Right now, if Klitschko gets him, his career is trashed. Wladimir has a better offense, defense, punching power, speed, jab, right hand, left hand, footwork, chin, cardio... If you pick Wilder, please come find me so I can take that bet, because that's pretty much free money.

I'm pretty sure anyone with a gun to their head in that scenario would be nervous as hell for ANY fight.

This could be a big fight though if Wilder beats Arreola/Stiverne, then maybe another couple good wins....well good for how crappy heavyweight is today.
Well he just whipped Stiverne in 12 so yeah he's not just a KO artist.
