Comments Thread For: Antonio Tarver: “I Never Got the Fights I Deserved!”

Antonio Tarver doesn’t believe he’s gotten a fair shake in boxing. “My whole thing is this: the game has never really been fair to me,” said Tarver. “I’ve never gotten the fights I wanted.”

Tarver is a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion. He started his professional boxing career in 1997 and has captured various titles along the way. Moreover, he defeated the preeminent fighter of his era, Roy Jones, Jr., two of the three times they fought, including once by knockout in the second round. [Click Here To Read More]

45 year old light heavyweight hoping for a heavyweight title shot.
He should meet Audley, they have something in common

Now he know what RJ felt like picking all that weight up for HW then losing it.

This is exactly why I LOL at Calzaghe fans who brag about the Jones win. Jones had been washed up for four years and hadn't beaten anybody relevant at all since being KO'd by Johnson. Yet Calzaghe cherry picks him and then complains about PPV buys and call boxing a dying sport LOL What a hypocrite. It's fights like that which are why boxing becomes more and more of a joke when fighters duck for a decade like Calzaghe and then cherry picks.

Hell, Calzaghe should of fought Tarver or Dawson who where the next best in the division. Hell even a Hopkins rematch would of been better because Hopkins got shafted.

I like Tarver and hope he can find some success even though I think he'd match up horribly with Wlad who would have no problem jab and clinch ****'in him to death. If he could get a good win at HW first, he'd be a good option for Wilder has he's durable and has skills with some pop.

Tarver shouldn't whine about his past problems in boxing but look look ahead at his battles with court and addiction .
