Comments Thread For: Garcia: Maidana Will Throw 100 a Round With Mayweather

Trainer Robert Garcia is putting together a strong, aggressive strategy for the biggest fight of Marcos Maidana's career. Maidana (35-3, 31KOs), fresh from his biggest career victory, a twelve round decision over Adrien Broner last December, will face Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0 26KOs) on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Garcia feels Mayweather is not very active with his punches and mainly focuses on defense, so Maidana will be working hard to throw as many punches per round as possible, as he did against Broner.

Throwing isn't the problem Garcia ... it's the part where connecting your punches with effect is

100 punches per round is 100 opportunities per round for Floyd to counter. Maidana will probably get knocked out by round 10.

He'll just get frustrated when very few of them land, and the ones that do simply won't faze Mayweather.

Maidana gasses every time he throws a lot of punches early in fights so If he isn't successful in the 1st few rounds it's over..

and the first counter that lands will be all se wrote to that stragegy....

mayweather is going to beat the living dog **** out of Maidana....going to be a offensive clinic to clean sharp counter punching. I can't wait.

                    Highly doubt that.
