ggg should face sturm or geale soon to proof he is # 1 contender

Sturm has the best resume of all the contenders at 160 and has been a major titlist off and on for over a decade. current ibf, former wbo and wba champ wins over barker, Murray, Macklin close lose to geale, castillejo, Sylvester the list goes on.

Geale beat sturm and a few other contenders so IMO he should be the current number one contender

The ring has ggg number one but both Geale and especially sturm have better resumes. I don't agree with them. I would have him no higher than 2. Wins over Macklin, proska, and Stevens aren't up there with what sturm had done but geale beat sturm. He beats one of them impressively then he is clearly the number one contender

Would love to see ggg vs sturm or geale

Ggg is missing that one big win to really catapult himself towards a serg fight

Fighting sturm, geale, Murray would def be ggg biggest win

          Agreed

Sturm fight would be a great cross roads fight, the mainstay vs the new blood a very makeable fight considering sturm track record at the weight....he has done everything but fight for the lineal title...the winner of that fight should

geale has shown a recent desire to fight him but when the fight was offered before geale had bigger paydays and ggg was more risk than reward...I don't blame him....he beat a more proven sturm got a belt and made a huge Aussie fight with mundine for bucks that were more....people forget boxing is a biz...id have done the same

Sturm has made it perfectly clear he doesn't want anything to do with GGG.

It's too bad Geale turned down April 26th against GGG but i think he'll fight him after that.

The thing about the sturm fight is it would be kinda a grudge match.. Ggg was his #1 contender for a year or so and this fight has been talked about since 09 in Germany where both guys are known and would be a huge fight...

in 09 ggg was all risk no reward and since then sturm fought several contenders has fought everyone that mattered not named Martinez....at this point he would cash out with ggg and Martinez...ggg is more reward worth the risk than 5 years ago, at that point his resume was kinda weak

Sure, your right about risk/reward... I'm just saying that sturm-ggg fight has been brewing for years now

                    1) Sturm's resume is pretty good in this weak middleweight era, but let's not give him credit for the Macklin win (which was a complete robbery), or act like he beat Murray (it was a draw). Btw when did he lose close to Sylvester? He beat Sylvester by wide UD.

                    2) Let me remind you that the same Macklin who beat Sturm (and he did, scorecards be damned) looked intimidated and horribly outgunned against GGG.

                    3) It's well documented that both of these guys ducked GGG. Geale even vacated a title so that he didn't have to fight him. So they kind of forfeited their higher ranking to GGG.

                    4) Sturm fought everyone that mattered not named Martinez? HUGE overstatement. Where are those fights against Pavlik, Williams, Pirog, Quillin and GGG (because GGG very much matters)? The only one who "mattered" when Sturm fought him was Geale. The others were nobodies who became somebodies with their strong showing against Sturm.
