Comments Thread For: Alexander's Trainer: Maidana Worthy, Khan Didn't Do ****

Kevin Cunningham, trainer of former two-division champion Devon Alexander, says WBA king Marcos Maidana earned the opportunity to face WBC counterpart Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a unification showdown on May 3rd, likely at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Maidana, along with former champion Amir Khan, were the two frontrunners being considered for the Mayweather date.

Thank you Cunningham! None of Khan's fans bring up the fact that he made your fighter wait and eventually pulled out of the fight when you and your fighter were actually champions at the time.

Maidana is the man that went out there and fought and earned his way to this fight. If you don't like it, stop crying and don't watch it then.

Cunningham spot on. Khan did nothing to earn a shot @ Floyd

**on another note, how come nobody can get the fight date right for Diaz-Khan

they fought in April, not June.

Thank you for someone finally saying it for what it is. Maidana is not a better fighter than Broner and in a rematch most experts would actually likely pick Broner to win. If AB fights to his full ability and does not get caught cold early trying to "figure out" Maidana (study some damn tape) he will beat Maidana.

Cunningham, like a lot of the idiots who are saying that Broner has the closest style to Mayweather are dumbas**** and dont know sh.it about boxing! Broner was an offensive first type of fighter and his philly sheel was incomplete! Broner has some skill but he doesnt live a true boxers lifestyle as mayweather does(stays in shape, trains almost daily etc). The only similarities to mayweather broner has is the ****iness, arrogance and disrespecting of opponents. AND that dont help you win fights(in broners case)
