Its clear from Floyd Jr and Sr. comments as well as Ellerbe's following the Canelo fight that Khan was their preferred pick.
I think they heard the backlash from the fans and after Maidana beat Broner he became an acceptable cherry pick.

Its true. Lets be honest Khan is at Rock Bottom he can only go up in hype, Maidana is on a all time high and he can only go down in hype.

So taking Maidana now makes sense, cause if Mayweather waits and Maidana takes an L thats it the Maidana hype will be over. Khan can get a statement victory in may and get the Mayweather fight in septemeber.

If Khan loses his next fight he is done.

Bull****. Try fasting for a month, there is no way you could train on any level, much less for the biggest fight of your life. I have a family member that married a man that fasts, he has barely any energy during that time and he has a desk job. No way someone could train during that time.
Will be interesting to see who Floyd chooses in September though. Cinco de Mayo has seen a lot of different types of fighters that aren't mexican (Hatton/Pac and Floyd/Mosley come to mind) But mexican independence day has always had a strong mexican presence fighting. Hard to see a credible opponent for Floyd in Sept. at this point in time.
