Funnily enough if he picks Khan over Maidana, that in the eyes f many fans and journalist would make him a cherrypicker. Picking Maidana is not a cherrypick, it's picking the best available WW with the most momentum. The only other WW that could fight Floyd is Porter, but despite being ranked higher than Maidana, he just doesn't have the hype and momentum that Maidana has built for himself with his wins over Karrass, Lopez and Broner.

The whole thing has got ridiculous now and the two things that have become apparent are that Mayweather will be loving this promotion for 'his' event who ever, Khan for his part has looked and sounded very unfortunate and desperate but for those who have watched carefully this was always an unfortunate and desperate ask .This talk of Khan's regards the cherry pick ? Kahn nor Maidana deserve a shot at Floyd. Bradley or PacRoid should be Floyd's next opponent. If those fights can't be made then maybe Floyd should just retire. Fighting low caliber opponents like Kahn/Maidana cheats boxing fans and undermines the sport on a whole.

Cotto was at his best at junior welter,is so wouldn't the "greener" version of Cotto have been the best version of Cotto.Also Canelo is 40 plus fights into his career and in his physical prime so would have to infer that this is as good as he is going to ever be and Cotto had distinguished amateur career and was a titleholder at 140,so enlighten me on just what "green" means.

Not saying floyd ducked cotto, but to say cotto was at his best at 140 is silly. He was killing himself to make weight. His prime was 147 post quintana, judah, mosley... after margarito his aura of invincibility was gone. Hes still a great fighter today though.

What sources confirmed that Khan had an inside track to fighting Mayweather name one viable source.I also can't speak to knowing Khan's judgement it always surprised me that he would never rematch Prescott.What I do know is that he could have fought in August or September to earn this opportunity yet his since of entitlement led him to sit out for now what will be in excess of a year.These are some of the things that I do know.

The multiple news sources reporting that khan was in the running. He didnt rematch prescott for the same reason he didnt fight devon... he'd be risking another loss. Just for ducking alexander he shouldnt get the fight. If he would have beat devon, id have no problem with khan getting the fight.
