I think in and outside the ring Ward is the more boring fighter. He just doesn't have charisma and neither does Floyd but at least he trash talks decently. Ward should study Floyd's strategy and establish himself as the villain. Imagine he goes to Gennady's press conference and starts slamming him verbally. Or he goes up to 175 and fight Kovalev or accepted the challenge by Adonis at 168 and got in their faces telling them what he's going to do to them and how.

Who has the more entertaining, fan-friendly style: Andre Ward or Gennady Golovkin?

Manny and GGG are #2 and #3 p4p. I would strongly disagree. Manny is mostly top 5-7 now and GGG mostly outside the top 10. I guess we all have our own opinions.

WOuldn't HBO put GGG in with Ward if they thought he would beat him?
Granted, ward isn't Mr. Excitement, but he is universally considered the 2nd best fighter in the world and does draw well in Oakland. He doesn't fill he house but he does get more than GGG does in te MSG theatre.Originally posted by JDD1 View PostWard needs to get back in the ring. I wish he had approached his situation in a way where he kept fighting. You skipped a response to my other post.
My guess is they will remove him.

Your question: I dont know about Lampley saying this or that. I'm not American and do not watch HBO. That being said, he is probably right to a degree. A nontitle affair with Junior is much more exiting for the fans.
Whether HBO would put GGG in with Ward if they thought Ward would win? Well first of all HBO is not a promotor, but if hey had that power, they probably would not. GGG brings asses in seats and has a worldwide following. Ward has a following in jOakland and that following is miniscule and losing in numbers every day that Ward is sitting on the shelf.

did anyone see the youtube video interview with Rosado where he claims that Grant makes special gloves for GGG? He says GGG's gloves are thin at the knuckle. that most of the padding is around the wrist area.

1. Be as sharp as he should be when he does fight.
2. To stay in the public mind.
No matter how technically good he is when he's sharp and does fight, that's just not as approachable as sitting a casual down in front a 'GGG' fight and telling them he'll be doing it again in 3 months.
