Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: We're Being Force Fed That Golovkin is a Star

WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) had kind things to say about Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26KOs), the WBA/IBO middleweight champion - but he feels GGG's team is trying to force the boxing public to believe their man is already a star. Both fighters are being showcased by HBO, and the anticipation for a Ward-Golovkin fight is growing.

Ward says Golovkin's team have always stated that their man is ready to face any boxer from 154 to 175. In response to that, Ward is willing to fight him. On the other end, Ward strongly feels that Golovkin's team have backed away from that campaign.

No Ward you are not the type of guys to bully small fighters...you are type of guy that weight drains his opponents and doesn't like to fight outside of Oakland...ward is the one boxer I cannot stand I rather listen to Bronner any day..

The GGG TEAM SHOULD LET HIS PERFORMANCES SPEAK FOR HIM. HE IS CLIMBING THE BOXING LADDER. LT HIM REACH THE TOP. THEN HE CAN FACE ONE OF THE BEST IN THE BIZNESS ANDRE S.O.G. WARD!!!

It took Golovkin all of 9 months to get to Ward's position. He's probably already a bigger star, and is only going to grow from here.

I know Ward is a fighter first but being that he still works part time for HBO, and will in all likelihood be an HBO commentator when his boxing days are done -- is it smart for him to be ****ting on GGG all the time?

Maybe Andre getting a tad jelly that HBO is pushing him harder to be an attraction than Ward.

Anyway I remember when they were cool. On HBO's 2 Days Golovkin they were real friendly; GGG was saying how Ward was the best flat out in and around the weight class. And GGG's team was talking about how much respect they had for him. Now both teams be talking mad ish lol
