Rating the british heavyweights

David Haye - Entertaining and a real puncher, but fighting is almost a part-time job for him. He also has a dubious history of making unconvincing excuses for dropping out of fights or even losing them (sore toe). I'd but him on a level with Chisora.

Yep, Haye beat him fair and square.

But someone was going to lose that fight, they both went toe to toe and on the night the better guy (Haye) won.

But, given that Chiosora has been a lot more active than Haye over the past 12 months nothing is certain if they fought again.

That is why I put them on the same level.

Say what you want about Chisora, he put a decent fight up against Vitali. Can you say the same thing about Haye vs Vlad?

I like Chisora as he gets it on with anybody and definitely turned his career upside down. But id rank Fury above him as a boxer and a personality. Joshua is only a prospect he belongs in the same bracket as Hughie Fury.

Tyson Fury - technically the best boxer at HW in the UK, but the guy is a metal meltdown. He has the physique and skill set, but I really question his motivation and focus.

Everyone questions 2 fast then he sparks them out ;-) tbh I don't question his focus or motivation. The guy was out for a year, there's plenty of good fighters who put weight on between camps. It's especially tough when you're a heavyweight.

If they fought 10 times I think Haye would win 10 times. He's just better than Chisora in all aspects. Especially now as Chisora's punch resistance doesn't seem to be the same.

And also, Vitali and Wlad are not the same person - so it would be pointless to compare the two fights.

Main reason Haye won that fight was Luis Pabon, Chisora wasn't allowed to go to work an forced him to fight on the outside. Booth the sneak ensured he got he ref he wanted, Pabon even ended a round 15 seconds early when Haye got tagged.

Come on you don't really believe that.

Haye won every round of that fight, and yes, he got one left hook at the end of a round which was stopped too early. Nothing to do with Haye. He was clearly the better fighter of the two.

Ranked 'em on current ability and potential thus Joshua's positioning. I avoided those at domestic like ***ton, McDermott etc. Lewison is the more proven of those who I see potentially going to European level, others I'm intrigued by are AJ Carter & David Allen. If Haye returns to the mix, we've got a strong division with some great fights.

I'm going to throw this out there and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened but Afolabi to heavyweight? He's not a huge cruiserweight but I can see fighting Fury possibly down the line. I hope they really undervalue Afolabi too.

I think I would maybe rank Dillian Whyte above Ian Lewinson as well when he comes back - but that's still a year away.

I remembered Whyte on my way downstairs, another good addition. Hughie hasn't really beaten anyone of note, I'd like to see him fight ***ton at some point this year.
