You've got to beat the man to be the man..... Close fight, much respect for Maidana. ... But he needed a dominant performance to get the decision....... I expected them to give Floyd the close fight outcome.... Chino can hold his head up high.
Floyd is starting to show his age...
Perhaps he only has a fight or two left in him... He should know when to walk like Calzaghe and not deny reality and hold on to long like Roy Jones Jr...
Floyd is still okay in my book, it's just chino gave him hell. Chino can take a punch and get in and turn into a rough fight. Chino knows to win he has to push him on the ropes. Which he did.
Just the sheer aggression in pushing Floyd to his uncomfortable zone should make it for Maidana.
The tempo of the whole fight was Maidana. He was the one putting the PAIN.
I am not pissed about the outcome(except for the ridiculous scorecards), it was a close fight. But did Mayweather seriously end up making Maidana wear alternative gloves? That is complete bull****.
All my respect to Maidana who never stopped punching, and showed tremendous heart and determination.
Serious question, What fight were the majority of you critics watching? Marcos Maidana is a tough fighter. He definitely showed a lot of aggression and grit while displaying his strength by forcing Floyd to the ropes. The thing is, The MAJORITY of his overhand looping shots didn't hit their mark/missed. He fought way too sloppy. I think he could've pulled it off if he'd straighten his punches and not smothered his work in there. This was the sloppiest I've seen Maidana fight IMO. Floyd won this fight but not by a landslide. What has happened to this forum guys?
This is the truth. I think Maidana's bicep hit Floyd's head more than anything else.

Isn't that what most people have been saying? Most felt Floyd won a close fight, couple of people could see a draw, couple felt Maidana won.
I give zero fucks for a rematch. Actually not specifically the rematch, but zero fucks about Mayweather in general now. This fight also exemplified to me that Mayweather will never be in an entertainment fight. You give him a tough time, he'll resort to holding and clinching. Impossible for the challenger to win that way. And it makes the fight so boring to watch.
It made for sort of an exciting fight at first when Maidana was doing better than expected, but it's not a fight I'll ever likely watch again.
There was no outcry from the commentators for the clinching part, they cried everytime Khan did it though and Khan was way more dominant, maybe that's why or maybe Floyd controls boxing now.
