I will tell you what. Go check out the Devon Alexander fight and you will know what. Maidana will get even more frustrated with Floyd because he has even more ways to frustrate you than Devon does.

All we saw is Maidana beat a few fighters that come to you face first and one guy who jumped multiple divisions in a little over a year. That is not Floyd. Floyd has been at 147+ since 2005 and Floyd does not fight the same way that Lopez or Soto fights.
floyd isn't beating maidana like alexander, alexander and khan beat maidana with the same style, getting off first, with combinations and turning maidana all the time except devon is better also clinched here and there to not leave himself a sitting duck (didn't clinch nearly as much as people make out though)

floyd can't do what devon or khan did, not a combination puncher, doesn't have the legs to pull all that movement off for long

my point is, there's no point in comparing devon to floyd, they fight completely difference, and one's a southpaw

Like Devon, Floyd will move, hold but Floyd will also use his elbow, forearm. Go check out Guerrero when he came in close to Floyd, for example. Floyd didn't give Guerrero the punches that Berto gave him.

Offensively, I agree that Floyd does NOT fight like those guys but I brought up defense. Defensively, he will do what Devon did and more.

I think the 'power' thing is going to catch people by surprise. Broner is a 140lber masquerading at 147, Floyd is a legit 147 that spars and backs down middleweights and light heavies in training. Marcos won't know what hit him. I take that back, yes, he does, right hands, over and over.

But if he lets Floyd catch his rhythm it's all over from there. To me Floyd needs show dominance from bell 1 and have Maidana backing up. Broner let him control from the opening bell which set the tone for the fight. But I do think Maidana style will make Floyd open up offensively which is what I'm looking forward to.
I didnt say reckless abandon.. just a war of attrition. Willing to take risk. It will take a guy with great fortitude and toughness, amongst other things, to beat Mayweather. Maidana has alot of attributes, that if put together right.. could form the perfect storm that is required for such a feat.

BUT a jab is NOT going to win you fights. Maidana will need to add the rest of his arsenal BEHIND the jab to be successful.

So that brings me back to Maidana's awkwardness. Maidana will need to be able to cut the ring off so that he can get to Floyd just like he did Broner. If Maidana can cut off the ring and also learn how to stay away from being "held" when he gets in close, then his chances increases .... but saying and doing are 2 entirely different things.

Another issue that Maidana seems to have is that he gasses out in the later rounds. Broner was definitely coming back in that fight when he was walking Maidana down. Fortunately for Maidana, Broner left himself open a few times and Maidana was able to make Broner pay for those mistakes. So hopefully Maidana comes in the best shape of his life.
Cant find much wrong with this post.

He has the tools, he just has to put them together..and Ive always thought Maidana's conditioning is what holds him back from being a p4p fighter. We will see how his second training camp with Ariza starts to shape his conditioning. Like you said... I expect Maidana to be in the shape of his life for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Well, just to bring some controversy... Broner hits harder than Floyd: "Yo creo que Broner pega más fuerte". Is he delusional?

Why does he have to be delusional? Unless you have sparred them both hold could you know in the first place?

I don't think it's out of the question, if broner doesn't hit harder it would have more to do with weight disparity than anything else. Way to be desperate about getting emotional reactions out of fight fans, the knowledgeable fans will roll their eyes and agree it's a non story.

The problem is that Maidana has never been hit by Mayweather. There is no way he can accurately analyze this without personal experience.

Obviously, but fighting one of the two, combined with his overall experience gives him a better idea than a random NSB poster.

And the same can be said for Floyd. Floyd might slip every punch Chino throws but if one catches him flush and turns off the lights, the previous several hundred missed go out the window.

It really doesn't matter if Broner hits harder Floyd's punch placement is miles away better May 3rd he will see the difference.

I agree with that, not to mention shots you don't see coming hurt you more, but I wonder if it will be enough to slow down Maidana, Maidana is similar to Margarito in that he will just keep coming, even if knocked down, and he can box, it's his conditioning that I am semi-concernend about. I hope he comes in in the best shape of his life so he can be the most competitive possible.
