The Maidana Team, for you late folk.
Props. I truly feel we are the victors of this thread. In the months leading up to this fight we were battling a sea of humanity. Yes men and 1 dimensional thinkers all. I am proud of our efforts; and it feels nice to have contributed even a little to the relatively nonimportant net credibility of a fighter as admirable as Chino Maidana.

My favorite part of this video is how it showcases Maidana making Floyd MISS. I also agree that Floyd did not land 50%. Thats a spin job.

Good fight, not sure there will be much difference in a rematch but I'd watch it again. Bailed GBP/Floyd out because September was becoming a tricky date to fill!
That is a beautiful video and more or less what I've been saying since Maidana's tko win over SotoKarass. Maidana has an amazing jab when he uses it. The video also depicts Maidana's FEINTS well. The man can feint even Mayweather out of position. He really does not get enough props for his offensive awareness. Mayweather was forced to the ropes by Maidana's jab, feints, and cutting off the ring no doubt about it.

its like Maidana himself has said: "Mayweather has a great defense, but I have a great offense". Thats how he came into the fight.

To me Maidana actually had very good stamina in the fight. Possibly could be better but the pace he set with the starch he puts in his punches is very tiring and he did it for 6 or so rounds then got a second wind. Not bad at all.

I see Chino Maidana coming into a rematch out of a longer more complete camp with even more focus and ferocity. He wants the official win!

Clean punches - A "clean" punch is defined as one which lands flush without being blocked

      Clean punches - Round 1

      Clean punches - Round 2

      Clean punches - Round 3

      Clean punches - Round 4

Clean punches - Round 5 (Maidana wins clearly)

      Clean punches - Round 6

      *There's also rounds 3, 4 and 5 available*

      Film Study
Round 4 Film Study - Many give this round to Maidana, Floyd wins it clearly. Maidana is ineffective.

      Round 10 - Skills breakdown

Where are the punches which win Maidana the first 6 rounds? He's ineffective on the ropes, he isn't landing as much as some people seem to think.

Round 11 has been added for the Film Study.

      and also...

I kinda hope it's a rematch now with all this buffoonery posted; it was an easy fight to score but because Maidana fought tough people think he won; he was landing effective punches and really got credited for punches that missed ala Castillo.

Maidana has the best chance to beat him, I am surprised casuals are making the right choice.

Wow, Danny that high on the polls?

Maybe that fight will happen then.

It's either that or Maidana 2 in Sep.

I agree that did surprise me and impress. His defense was very good.

As you know, I thought Maidana would be Floyd's toughest fight in years, but I didn't expect his defense to be as sharp as it was.

Impressive jab aswell, hit Floyd at times from distance. Thought that was surprising.

I'm very glad the "Improvments" being laughed off before the fight by yourself and myself came to show do actually exist.

Sorry Money May, nobodies buying that you made this a brawl 'for the fans' You just came up against educated pressure and struggled (not for the first time).

Personally I scored it 115-114 (one round even) for Mayweather but there were many close rounds. I can see anywhere from 8-4 Mayweather to 7-5 Chino being acceptable, but to be honest I thought Mayweather probably deserved the win. I didnt score when I first watched and thought Mayweather won more comfortably (that what winning championship rounds does i guess) but when i watched and scored I realised just how many of those early rounds Maidana picked up of off pure aggression and workrate. If Chino had elite stamina he would have won that fight imo

Way to utilize the jab Maidana. Those feints and deceiving jabs pushed Floyd of the ropes. Way to show how to bring Floyd to the danger zone.

Maidana looks like a wrecking ball with science in his execution.

This is a very good video, that's why i was never really sold whenever they show those compubox numbers, you can never gauge a fight with just those... Just like in this fight, a missed jab isn't really a missed punch, but in actuality those are part of a strategy.. Steven A. Smith reiterating Floyd's outrageously very high connect ratio as against Maidana's, wtf, and supposedly this boxing experts knows more about boxing. haha! The truth is if only Maidana continued with the press for each and every round he could have edged out Floyd and won the match by 1 or 2 points...
