I'd pay $45 for it, more if it has a good undercard

Again .... if the fight is not televised by HBO it won't be shown in the USA (even no PPV). Last time when GGG fought in Monaco his US fans had to watch the fight illegally or watch it later on youtube.

So could anyone explain this to me. According to some of you Sergio doesn't have to fight GGG because he deserves a big pay day and GGG isn't there yet, because he's old, because, he's injured etc. But GGG has to fight for free (no one could answer who will pay for the fight ) in order to please a dozen of so called "hard core" fans?

And don't say "because Lara is a Jr Middleweight." Since when has that stopped Golovkin?
Yeah, I mentioned this idea in another thread - this is the best chance I see for this fight coming off - K2 could talk with the Monacco promotion (I think its Golden Gloves or something....yeah...based outta South Africa) or Perhaps Hyrunov to have it in Russia where GGG also has some popularity.

Can't see any good reason this couldn't work - cept perhaps it'd have to scheduled around Golovkins HBO dates cos he ain't gonna miss out on the US exposure.

Good Idea IMO - it might mean some delay, maybe even early next year (a la this yars Monte Carlo fight) but there's no reason it shouldn't get done.

And this is a good fight, might not be one that matters much to casual fans but to people who want to see GGG step up (which is about everyone, fans and haters alike) and take on a different kind of challenge it has the potential to be superb.

I don't Tweet, but has someone floated this idea to Loeffler yet? Or to DeCubas or whoever would be negotiating on Laras behalf - I still think it's unlikely to come off, but these options offer the bst chances.

It'd be paid for by Golden Gloves and global sales of broadcast rights, alternatively they could take it to Russia and perhaps work with Hyrunov. I wouldn't expect either fighter to get an HBO level payday (though I just don't know...I've not seen any mention of the last Monte Carlo paydays).

The reality is though that GGG has been given 3 HBO dates this year, and anything else would have to fit around them - US exposure is obviously his priority. Unless there's a big gap (5 months say) between HBO dates this fight would have to be made for next years' Monte Carlo/ European fight.

I still think it less than likely to happen, and can understand why K2 are less interested that some hardcore fans, but if there were a way to do it, it'd be that.

I suspect this whole thread is simply at attempt to prove that GGG is somehow 'ducking' a beltless JMW who brings nothing to the table but excellent skills, but I've chosen to take it at face value, cos I would quite like to see the fight.

              You do read my posts...
... I suspect that Lara precisely meant a Monte Carlo fight...

I don't think there's any chance Golden Boy allows that.

Well the February 2014 fight was announced in March 2013. I don't think the GG can organise a fight on short notice. I also doubt Hyrunov will pay for a fight between a kazakh and a cuban. He complained on a russian boxing site that he gets nothing from the fights he organises. The only aim is to promote professional boxing in Russia and to help russian boxers.

I agree with you. Before the Macklin fight -he will be his biggest test. After the fight - Macklin is a bum. Before the Stevens fight - he will KO GGG. After the fight - Sevens is a bum. Now - Lara is great, he's not scared. After the fight I guess it will be - c'mon Angulo dropped him, Lara is a bum, he's JMW...
