HBO has also been trying to rebuild their relationship with GBP....why would they keep burning the bridge?
Because they'd be promoting their highest rated fighter of 2013 on the heels of possibly their biggest ppv of the year. That makes perfect sense to me. Plus, The Hop fight hasn't been scheduled yet. HBO wouldn't be at fault whatsoever. Unless it's for sure that Hop vs Shum is a for sure go on the 19th. Which I don't think it is

UFC has a ppv on the 26th, not 19th. The date Geale wants them to work with

But I'm just saying. I'd rather go against Hop instead of Mayweather the week after the 26th
Hopkins gets very big ratings on Showtime

Why exactly would HBO fcuk themselves to accompany Geale? Just another duck in a long line for Geale.

Decide for yourself, was it sound to decline such an offer for such reason..
He earned $2million for his rematch with Mundine. There is no way in hell he would of earned that much if he had fought GGG.

Schaeffer has the date down to the 19th and the 26th, it's either or. They may not have anything in stone, but HBO aren't oblivious to what their counterparts are doing. Showtime isn't going to put one of their bigger fights up against one of HBO's biggest ones. Paulie/Zab ratings were hurt going against Rigondeaux.... Kirkland's fight go the highest view count that night.

Why would HBO want to damper their numbers by going head to head? They'll beat them either way, no need to hinder their numbers.

That he does, yet GGG gets higher ratings already at this stage in his career. One question, is Hopkins already set to fight on April 19? Can't seem to find that on Sho, Barclay center or GBP's websites

Ahhh yes, Geale's ducking.. but of course.

Showtime pretty much has that date, now way they even look at the 26th since MSG was reserved since early Jan

HBO is the king of boxing. Their numbers always come out on top. Weren't 23 of 25 highest boxing ratings on HBO last year? If nothing's set in stone, I don't see why they can't get that one week bump in. My 2 cents though. I'm just wanting to see this fight. Didn't know HBO had to wait on anyone's word

If Geale is serious and if the GGG team has no one better and willing he may get his wish. It is no shame for GGG to fight Geale and no shame for Geale to lose to GGG.

He won't get 2M for Wood though.

How much do you think the Wood is worth compared to the Golovkin fight on HBO?
