Comments Thread For: Adonis Stevenson Places Target on The Back of Kovalev

Adonis Stevenson is likely heading to a unification with Sergey Kovalev in the fall or late summer, according to Stevenson's promoter Yvon Michel of GYM. For now both fighters are returning on separate dates in the coming months, with Kovalev (23-0-1, 21KOs) defending his WBO light heavyweight title on March 29, and Stevenson (23-1, 20 KOs) going against Polish contender Andrzej Fonfara (25-2, 15 KOs) on May 24th. HBO is pushing hard to have both of the boxers face each other this year.

Stevenson is for real whether people want to admit it or not. His past is disgusting but he represents just about everything that is great for boxing.

Exciting style, hes very active, fighting top opposition, knocking them senseless and ducking nobody!

I have my doubts about him. Seems one handed, one dimensional. He's still a top 3 fighter in that weight class.

I like this contract he signed with HBO. They need to have more contracts like that, where fighters don't get 100% of the choice on who they fight. It makes for better matchups.

Very impressed and much respect to him if he actually goes through with this. I still think Kovalev KO's him.

I wish all fighters would fight the best opponents instead of looking for excuses not to. This fight is more PPV worthy than watching Floyd's one sided fight against Khan or Maidana.

Definitely left hand happy lately. He used to use his right a lot more and had a wicked right hook he would whip to the body.

I've felt he has shown a lot of dimensions lately especially in his fights with Cloud & Bellew. I guess he didn't have much choice though seeing Bellew just wouldn't engage. Expected that from Bellew actually, he always talks a good one.

I like Stevenson in this fight . He is the more polished boxer of the 2 but then again he might get caught. Overall interesting fight.

Stevenson is the real deal but Kovalev's power and uncanny boxing ability are just scary. It's like he stumbled into the profession he was destined to be in and he is straight demolishing guys with ease. I think Stevenson makes it competitive for a few rounds (maybe 4) and then Kovalev breaks him down and KO's him before 6 rds.

Dangerous fight for both. People thinks Kovalev has more power but I think they equally matched in power. Stevenson would have KO all the guys that Kovalev has kod with the same ease. Cant wait for this fight
