I'm not saying he's a bum, I just don't see what's so good about him especially with pleading for him to fight GGG because I don't see this fight being competitive whatsoever.
I don't. But it's not because Geale is that bad. It's because Golovkin is that good.

he's quite experienced, and he's ranked in the top 5.

he's nobody to write home about, because this is a bad middleweight era. it's still a win over a top 5 opponent. nobody is calling geale a talent.

he can't fight martinez or quillin. geale and sturm have also turned down the fight at one stage or another.

you can only fight who is campaigning in your division, and who will fight you.

I keep seeing his name thrown around as a worthy opponent for GGG, but I just don't see it
As opposed to Ishisa, Adama, Proksa and all the other crap GGG has fought?

I'd say Geale is a touch better than Sturm, he can box and moves, hits sufficiently hard and has a good chin. Geale is easily one of the top 3 or 4 middles on the planet. It would be the biggest step up yet in GGG's career...so hat's hwy most people want this fight rather than another lmw or no name mw.

As a champion, you fight the highest ranked contender and that's what Geale is.

You can't write off deserving contenders because you don't like their styles.

I can see if Jacobs gets up, falls back down, staggers around, etc.... But Jacobs got dropped. The ref counted to like 3 then stopped the fight.

Early stoppage in my honest opinion, but hey...

Also, Jacobs was clearly winning the fight
This tells you everything you need to know about this guy.

                He was.

Jacobs clearly was more active, while Pirog landed the fewer more clear shots. Jacobs was outlanding Pirog and was up 3 -1 at the time of the stoppage.

The commentators were more surprised that Pirog was in a competitive fight with Jacobs and they thought it would be tough for Jacobs down the stretch, but no one had Pirog winning the fight.

How bout this, why don't you post the video and show me how Pirog won more than 1 round, let alone 3 and was winning the fight, because he wasn't.

Jacobs versus GGG would be a tougher sell than GGH vs Geale,Geale is a former champion.how they gonna sell Jacobs ? He was ahead on the cards before his face was ****d by Pirog! Pirog hasn't been relevant in over two years ! I don't think I've seen a single boxing thread outside of NSB regarding him in that time.

Frankly Jacobs is irrelevant compared to Geale, and Pirog for that matter !

                    See for yourself

Outside of clearly winning the fight, Jacobs outlanded Pirog 73-43.

Like I said, Jacobs won 3 rounds. I gave him the 1st, 3rd, and 4th. Why don't you tell me which rounds Pirog won?

I'm sorry but if Geale gets this fight, it's by default because of the network wars not because he's a stellar fighter.

I've read each comment in this thread and understand everyone's thing about rankings, etc. But from what I saw in his last fight, the kid sucks to me. I'm sorry, he just does.

Putting rankings to the side, I don't see what's so special about him. He has little to no power, ok movement and almost put me to sleep.

But hey, if he gets the fight, this will be the perfect thread for you guys to bump post fight, right
