After Kovalev KO's Adonis, can he beat Ward at 175 ?

    Simple question.

After Kovalev KO's Adonis, can he beat Ward at 175 ? I think he can and will if the fight happens at 175.clearly their isn't much left at 168 bar George Groves when he beats Froch.to me it is the logical fight for both.would Ward agree to 175 though, highly doubtful and we know he'd want it to be in Oakland as he has a fear of flying too.

lol. lets focus on kovalev earning a shot at stevenson before we talk about him beating him let alone going after ward.

Who does he have to knock out to earn his shot ? Who did the Stevenson knock out to earn a shot versus Dawson ? Kovalev would have iced that buster Dawson in round one too.

Get out of here with that earning horse ****,Kovalev is going to be no.1 in the division regardless of whether anyone likes it or not.Stevenson just happens to be in the way.its the only fight at the weight anyone wants to see.yet Stevenson doesn't want it.

I honestly like kovolev's chances vs ward,,,

Ward is a great fighter, but i dont think he is a defensive whizz like hopkins or floyd to totally outmaneuver kovolez all 12 rounds....
Ward wins most of his fights by being more physical and roughing guys up but at 175 he will not be nearly as effective in doing that vs kovolev

I think ward can be hit by top level guys like kovolev

I favor ward, but its a 55/45 type fight, and one mistake by ward and it could be lights out for him

Stevenson did nothing to earn a shot against Dawson. Kovalev is much more relevant in the search for a title than Stevenson was before he shocked us.

Out of all fighters around Ward's class, I give Kovalev the best chance to beat him. 50:50 IMO.

Ward is going to have too step at some point,18-24 months its inevitable IMO.no one is out pointing that guy or stopping him,I couldn't possibly see Stevenson getting anywhere near Ward should he drop down or catch weight, should Stevenson elect to carry on avoiding Kovalev maybe he's man enough for Ward.personally I doubt Stevenson would fight Ward though,he seems more intent on facing the likes of Bute or Pascal.B- level opposition whilst he milks that belt for its worth,I won't begrudge him those money spinning fights as kong as he faces one of Ward or Krusher.

Back on topic.could Ward handle Kovalev's power ? I know Ward doesn't go down easily and it takes a big puncher to floor the technician, but he has tasted the canvass to guys with a lesser punch than Kovalev.Ward may still have been perfecting his craft back then and his chin is far from cracked or questionable as he's been punched by the very best in the division until he established himself as no.1. He clearly wanted no part of Bute after the super 6,we know Bute has a mean punch, did something genuinely concern Ward,or did he want an easy fight between Froch and Bute, before preparing himself for what he clearly perceived as a tough fight versus Bute ?

I like Ward and I'm by no means certain he'd win or lose versus Kovalev, but whilst Stevenson continues to evade the fights we want to see him in,I don't see any other challenges at light heavy or south of light heavy.maybe Hopkins versus Ward or Kovalev, but his style isn't very appealing and I tend to avoid his fights recently.

Kovalev vs Ward can possibly be fight of the year if it gets made. I see action on both sides and wouldn't be surprised if Ward rocks Kovalev a few times in the fight and vice versa. It would be action packed for sure.

Do you think Ward could nullify Kovalev's attacks for 12 rounds,or stop Kovalev ?

Kovalev won't even beat Stevenson, he'd be shut out completely by Ward.
