No one wants to fight Andre Ward at 168?

Virgil Hunter: "Nobody wants to fight him, that's the only thing that baffles me, here's the man with the belt, the #2 PFP spot, you'd think everybody would be knocking on the door to fight him."

Yeah, lets get dominated in the ring, and not get a Floyd type pay check. OK.

Still got mad respect for Dawson for coming down and fighting him.

That's cause he beat everybody. He will have no problems landing a fight at 175. Stevenson wanted a 2 fight deal, one in Montreal, one in Oakland.

Chad was brave, the poor guy's career was ruined by that move though.

Andre Ward will have trouble finding opponents because he demands everything his own way (location, weight, ref, judges, etc).

If he'd be willing to fight away from home or move up to 175 (or down to 160, he's had fights at 160 before) he have more options to choose from.

I'd love to see Ward move up to 175. I don't get what the apprehension is. He actually has great chances against Stevenson and Kovalev. Yeah, he might get KOd, but it'll raise his stock SO MUCH HIGHER.

And Ward at 160 would be pretty awesome. I don't know if he could make the weight though.

I like Ward, but I still kind of hate him for doing that to Dawson. I know it goes both ways, and Dawson chose his bed, but still.

There really aren't a lot of 168 pound options that he hasn't already beaten. The only one even remotely viable is Forch and he can do just fine as he plus I don't think his fans really care if he is better than Ward as they likely know that is a bridge to far and are fine with what he is.

160 has some solid fighters that could come up but with that 160 has been muddled recently with people wanting to take Sergio's crown before biting off a challenge like Ward which is only logical.

175 I am sure Ward would find some suitors there and there are some appealing options there. Ward's plan seems to be to wait for 175 to clear itself up and then set to the front of the line, which would be fine if he had some options at 168 but he doesn't.

A typical spin. "Nobody wants to fight Ward, so we'll have to fight Kashtonov."

Anyway. What Hunter REALLY says is that noone wants to fight Ward. In jOakland. With Ward's personal judges and his neighbor as referee.

Ward does not want to move up to light-heavy and fight Kovalev and Stevenson.

Who does Ward want to fight?

He could have fought Bute in Canada before Froch got to him.

He could have fought Froch in Nottingham or Kessler in Denmark

The talent pool at SM is not great at the moment a lot of the fighters are on the up though.

The Super 6 inflated our opinion of what is a relative poor division.

What else does Andre have to prove in the division? move up and stop whining.

The big fights are out there, you just have to be willing to take them.

there are not many options remaining at smw for ward. groves maybe? stieglitz if he beats abraham again? one of the dirrell brothers? better to just move up to lhw and challenge stevenson or kovalev.
