The February 1 show in Monte Carlo is quickly falling apart at the seams as yet another prominent fighter is dropped from the bill.
One day after Nathan Cleverly was pulled from the show, middleweight contender Martin Murray of Great Britain has now allegedly become the latest to get bitten by the injury bug.
Murray (26-1-1, 11KO) was slated to face Australia's Jarrod Fletcher in the evening's chief support, with unbeaten knockout artist Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin defending his middleweight title versus Osumanu Adama in the main event. However, Fletcher was notified by his team on Wednesday that a new opponent was being sought for their scheduled 12-round middleweight bout.
A statement on Fletcher's confirmed Facebook page claims, "Martin Murray has pulled out of his scheduled World Title fight with Jarrod 'Left Jab' Fletcher! 'Left Jab' will still fight on the Gennady Golovkin vs Osumanu Adama card, with the announcement of the new opponent to be made as soon as possible!" [Click Here To Read More]
