of course he would. because hes certainly proved that hes that dominant of a fighter at 154 rite? the way he destroyed lara, molina, vanes and freddy hernandez ring a bell. excellent fighter, unbeatable by the best fighter in the world, imo.

      Lara beat Lara?

Why would Floyd beat Lara at 154? Because Floyd looked good against slow plodding Canelo? Getting beat up by Cotto like we haven't seen?

You're right. Lara is easy work for Floyd.

u are kinda missing the point. we know all of the fighters floyd beat, 154 or not. vnow tell me, who has this amazing fighter named erislandy lara beat that makes u so sure he beats floyd? hes hanst even fought anyone nearly that level. hes struggled against fighters on c level in fact. i have never seen anything impressive from lara that tells me "yea, he'd beat the best fighter in the world."

Is there any reason this fight is not happening?
because Floyd is not a "real" junior middle. He's a natural welter and, if he wanted to "cut" weight, could probably make light-welter.

Let me ask you, how would Floyd do against Lara's resume? As of late, Trout and Angulo to be specific since those are his most recent fights.

Lara beat Trout much easier than Canelo did. That does not make Lara a better fighter than Canelo except against one fighter. Lara has been knocked down a few times while Canelo has never been down. Lara has had a hard time against Vans, Molina, and Angula so he is not that much better than the other good 154 pounders. Canelo's next fight will be with Molina or Angulo so he may look better than Lara did against them. As for Mayweather he never really won the 154 pound title except in the Cotto fight. He beat Canelo at a catchweight of 152 that Mayweather demanded or no fight. Mayweather is greedy and he won't give up his championship at either 147 or 154. He is supposed to pick one weight to be champion of and vacate the title of the other weight. That's the rules because when a fighter holds titles in two weight classes at the same time he can't do a good job of defending both titles. This is especially true in Mayweather's case because he only fights twice a year. That means if he hold both 147 and 154 pound titles the best he can do is defend them only once a year. That is not often enough and it's unfair to the top challengers waiting for a title shot. Floyd is never going to fight Lara. Lara not only does not bring in much money but he is also a very dangerous fight for Mayweather. Lara is a southpaw with quick hands and good boxing skills. He is a counter puncher with good timing. His straight left is a hard fast punch. He does not telegragh this punch at all and it comes out of nowhere like a rattlesnake strike. He is much too high risk, low reward for Mayweather to ever fight him.

Seriously neither Angulo nor trout are great fighters. So why even ask that question? Floyd wold definitely beat Angulo, Trout. Hernandez and Molina. That's really not saying much tho because honestly none of those fighters are special.

Good post. Yes Lara has been knocked down a couple times, but Angulo he got back up and won those rounds. Also Lara wasn't allowed to rehydrate past 160.

Canelo is the 2nd best JMW behind Lara IMO. Canelo isn't really proven, I want him to take on tougher fights. He is young and is talented, no doubt but I want to see him in with Angulo and Molina this year then Lara at the end if the year.

We know that Mayweather's division is 147 he's very small for Jr Middleweight and only fights there for very big money fights which Lara isn't.

                    Pretty simple.

These simpletons thinks boxing is not a business. Well I feel sorry for them because professional boxing is a business, amateur boxing is a sport.
If boxing is all business, how come the fight that makes the most business sense still can't be made after so much years; Mayweather vs Pacquiao? It seems like personal issues have outdone the business aspect of 'boxing is a business'.
Business in this sense has now been relegated to 2nd place behind all the excuses by PBF and his fan base. A fan base that is not interested in the fight 'cause they, like Floyd, wants to see him retire unbeaten. A fan base that would agree with him even if he made a mistake and said 'today is Monday' when it's actually Sunday. A fan base that, if Floyd asked them 'what day is it today?' they would reply '..anyday you wish Floyd.'

That's why Floyd would get away with all the bull**** he's on..he has support.

But, if we all decide to boycott his next few fights or even one fight, then we'll see the power of the man in the street. I bet we get the fight we want.
