honestly, if this fight doesn't happen because of that one interview, it will be the biggest b1tch move in the history of the sport

imagine if Floyd lost and it was Merchant that did the interview? i would tell the entire fight party to STFU and witness the greatest interview in the history of western civilization

i know fighters use that stick hit for abs but do other fighters also hit the stick on their arms or legs or ribs? i never really thought about it but seems like a pretty good way to dense bones.

            Lol that would be funny.

I meant to say jim gray would be interviewing both floyd/manny since he interviewed both tyson/lewis

The deal was that whichever network's fighter won, that network would get the delay rights. Lewis won and HBO showed the replay, and the fight was forever branded an HBO fight. The Showtime replay that was produced never aired.*

So the deal can be done. It's just not easy.*

Right off the bat, I'm told that HBO is reluctant to handle the delay the same way as in the 2002 deal, preferring instead to have any delay air simultaneously on both networks. Perhaps HBO was OK with the 2002 arrangement because Lewis was such a huge favorite over Tyson and it was worth the risk. In a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, Mayweather will be the favorite.*

yes, it's a common SHAOLIN training.

It's better to not get your hopes up when it comes to this potential fight. Mayweather is uneasy about getting in the ring with pacman, he sees something that he's not comfortable with. I remember in the Corley fight, Merchant was saying that after Floyd fought his first lefty, May Sr phoned Floyd's manager and told him to never put Floyd in the ring with a Southpaw ever again. Of course he fought corley and a few other southpaws after but none of them are in Pac's class and they did not posses a left straight as fast and as accurate as Pacquiao's. On the other hand it's no secret Pacquiao walks into straight right hands, but is Floyd willing to risk it? What if pacquiao get's there first? Floyd is the real master boxer( **** Algieri) but I think Pac's foot speed, awkwardness and straight shots will screw up Floyd's confidence and timing.

I think Floyd's timing, jab, and right hand would eventually nullify most of Pac's foot speed and straight shots, BUT I definitely agree with you on the awkwardness and obviously on being southpaw. The combination of those two I think that is what really bothers Mayweather about Pac. Pac just throws from so many different angles and positions which makes it difficult for an anticipation and timing guy like Mayweather. Awkward fighters have given Mayweather trouble in his career...Corley, Maidana, Chavez, Augustus all made him fairly uncomfortable at times between awkwardness and pressure. However, the one thing that has bothered Mayweather the most in his career are extremely physical fighters who apply pressure and aren't afraid to get grimy/rough house. That's where I simply don't think Pac has the gumption to beat Mayweather. Pac has an extremely limited inside game, so if Mayweather controls the distance correctly, which he is a master of, he can make it very difficult for Pac to be in his preferred punching range.

The one thing that isn't discussed enough though is that Mayweather does an extremely good job of controlling his opponents punch output, especially guys who are not physically imposing to him. Most people seem to think that Pac can beat Mayweather based on output, but in reality Pac's output would be severely reduced. I would be very interested to see who would be coming forward more often as I think that would play a huge part in how the fight went.
