Sorry Money but I disagree. Broner NEEDS to beat Maidana's @$$ in a rematch first THAN go down to JR light for a bid. But he needs to do what he CAN do and beat Maidana. Broner can stop him in a rematch he will not get caught cold early. Maidana was on the brink of being stopped very late in the fight. Maidana even admitted he was hurt bad in the 11th. That's why there is controversy about what happened in Maidana's corner to wake him up. Watch the end of the 11th round and how Chino's legs buckled after a body shot Broner dug him with. Y'all aint watch this fight forreal. Chino won yah but booiiiii he was on the brink im tellin you!

Chino did seem to be there for the taking so to speak, I think Paulie or Bernstein said something to that effect... but hey that is how good fights are, they ebb and flow. He couldnt put Marcos down that night and after seeing how beaten he was afteward, IDK if an immediate rematch would be the best idea. Rematch is a must tho, that fight was too much fun

Why is it a must? Broner got dominated and thus doesn't deserve a rematch, he must earn it. Move down and face WARtthysse while Maidana fights Mayweather, then take the smaller purse in a rematch if you survive Lucas.

135 is the magic number for broner up until he develops his defense and lateral footwork; if he's not willing to entirely lose that fake shoulder roll of his; well then, just do it on mismatched opponents or if he is totally dominating the fight and the opponent doesn't have that cracking power, he can do it, he is obviously athletic enough to pull it.

140 is still way dangerous for him. The most dangerous threat there is garcia, why? Basing from his last fight, broner is a sucker for left hooks, Maidana's left hook isn't special, it's delivered very slow; in telegraph mode, it has cracking power yes, but maidana's true power lies in his right cross, if that connects on full power, broner would not just twerk, he would be dancing with the stars. In fact, I would say maidana's left hook was sort of experimental only, normally he doesn't have that as one of his major weapon. It's always his right cross that is really menacing. Broner was lucky enough not to be hit by it's full power on the first round; it hit him in glacing blow and broner twerked a bit already, just imagine if it's a direct hit.

Now with garcia's more accurate and more powerful left hook, I think it's too much for broner unless he has really really improved his defense; he isn't gonna survive this one. Maidana is the harder puncher of the two, but garcia is the more skillful and his left hook has a terriying power. I doubt broner wants to deal with that on his comeback. If he decides on taking lucas, then, it's another ticket to hell as well. Since lucas is as tough as maidana and a very hard puncher but with a better boxing skills. It's a better option than garcia but it's still a poison for him. A peterson fight is doable, but with his current defense, he still could lose that fight. He should stay at 135, build his confidence back and improve his defense and add variety to his offense,increasing punch output is also not a bad idea. He's not accurate enough to pull a floyd mayweather punch output and dominate a fight.

Feel free to say whatever you want about AB or call me **** rider or whatever. But I just re-watched and scored the fight again. And I scored a four point victory for Chino. And I did so with two even rounds and I scored the 9th 10-8 Chino without a KD. And score was prtty close to what Paulie and Farhood had. That was a grueling fight for both guys and wasn't close to being the pasting that a lotta you want it to be.

That said, AB isn't yet a welter and he'd do himself some good to listen to Floyd and take his ass back down in weight and start rebuilding his career. Because that Chino fight was the kinda fight that ruins young fighters. And even if he beats Chino, he'd suffer way too much damage for basically nothing.

Well said HK, you know that every guy he faces will race across the ring and just put massive pressure on him from here on out. He would do well to get out of the WW division for now anyway. (Unless he is fighting smaller guys or cab drivers, etc)

He needs to go 140lbs. I think 135lbs is nice but it can get too easy for him in a fight. 140lbs would keep him honest and he showed that his chin is special. He can easily make 140 weight and have that right diet than ballon up to almost 160lbs.

I really do think a new trainer is a must though. A pro-trainer in the same aspect like ****m Richardson or Virgil Hunter, especially with the HBO/Showtime business aspect of it all.

He could go to 140, but Broner might wanna pursue an immediate rematch before someone else beats Maidana. I rewatched the fight and Maidana is not a complicated fighter to figure out. He did the same **** over and over again; bending at the waist, coming in low and slow, squared up, hands down, PLODDING and throwing ugly wide hooks. You don't have to be Floyd Mayweather to adjust to this. I've never rode Broner's c*cktails so when I say this I'm not doing it to hate on Maidana or hype Broner up, I just don't understand how Broner couldn't adjust. I don't wanna call Maidana a bum, but...I have a feeling upon reviewing the fight Broner will know what to do to beat Marcos.
