Froch prides himself on being one of the best fighters Britain ever had. The fact is he got knocked down and almost knocked out in the first round, and then got out-boxed and out-gunned for the vast majority of the fight. All this against a guy who was a huge underdog. Whether you agree with the stoppage or not, it was indisputably controversial. Froch, who was cheered into the ring initially, was booed out of it by the end of the fight.

If you read between the lines you will realise this rematch has little to do with Groves as much as it has to do with the fans, and Froch himself. Groves, after all, has a bright future regardless and has gone up in stock massively. It is Froch who is now being questioned everywhere. And it's Froch who needs to cement his legacy by leaving no questions unanswered.

After all, he does claim to be the best fighter Britain ever had alongside Lennox Lewis.
I have never stated that froch should be able to get out of the rematch, all I said is he deserves our respect as a fighter before we start calling him a pussy like people have done on this thread.

The rematch will be a big hit, Froch should clear the air.

I fancy Froch in the rematch.

I'd pick Bradley and wouldn't think too much. Not just because of the names, but the fact that outside of Provodnikov, all his wins were comfortable and clear.

Bojangles makes a good point. In his follow up post.

Also if we just look at facts only, then we have to take what bojangles signature says is true, that deante wilder is truly better than Muhammad Ali. But using context I'm guessing that he's being sarcastic there ;-)
When I look at a resume I only look at the wins, how it was won and what type of caliber the opponent is. That's how I keep things objective and consistent.

Many of Bradley's opponents went on to do better and even become champions. You can't say Froch has a better resume when someone has HIM on their resume (Ward) and continues to win against world class opposition. The better Froch performs the better of a win it is for Ward. Ward>Froch.

Very true, but ward only has two pick-em fights at world level, kessler and Dawson. I would give him 3 world prime world class fighters on his resume. With froch being by far the best one.

Just because you have one result over a fighter, it doesn't mean you have the better overall resume. It doesn't mean you automatically take on all the opponents victories as your own.

Overall ward is the better fighter. But froch has the better resume.
