after rigondeauxs beating of ducknaire , his next fight should have been made in miami . bob arum should bring rigo to his cubans fans here in miami , not in ny as the same city where golden boy was helding a card also .or bob arum did it on purpose or he doesnt want to promote rigo .

still , rigo was watched by 500 000 boxing purist , in a night where others boxers as judah and maligginagi , with more name and exposure than rigo were also doing their thing . if there had not been a showtime card , rigo would have hqad around a million followers , but bob arum is hurting rigos promotion , as he beat the norigo ducknaire train badly , exposing the light weight.

As soon as Rigondeaux-Agbeko was signed I knew it was sandbagging from Arum. Nothing good was going to come out of that match up and Arum and the matchmakers knew this already. Why not Rigo-Vazquez Jr/Arce/Montiel and those come forward fighters? Agbeko, a dirty fighter?

Every one was all excited for this fight, while I was confused as to why they were excited.

I order showtime just for the boxing, Im with you on the appeal of the showtime card that is why I watched it live and dvr the HBO card. the macklin and rigo fight were duds to me.

First pic is after round 2. Second pic is after round 11.

              Kirkland-Tapia fight for comparison.

Do they initially count DVR in these numbers. I watched BK live and Rigo and Kirkland the next day.

I'll explain why Rigondeaux is a boring fighter. you can watch 3 rounds of a Rigondeaux fight and it will basically be the same for the rest of the fight. he's a slick counter puncher and has great technical skills.

but Rigondeaux doesn't take any risks to use his skills and go for a KO. he's just fine with going to UD. if you risk nothing don't expect to get anything.

Only a few boxing fans really like that style. it doesn't make you a "purist" if you do like Rigo's style nor does it make you any less of a fan for finding that style boring.

case in point Max Kellerman talks mad s hit about Miguel Vazquez, calls him boring unentertaining. Miguel Vazquez is actually a technically brilliant fight who use is a master of timing, spacing and movement. he's arhythmic movements really though fighters off. he throws a jab and moves around in a hurky jerky way, totally throwing the other fighter off. I don't hear those same purists coming to his defense, expect Roy Jones or Teddy Atlas.

after saying all that good stuff about Miguel Vazquez I still think he's boring to watch. he's doesn't risk much to entertain and that's the problem. neither does Rigo.

all I'm saying is if you're a world level fighter and play it safe, then a majority of fans won't watch. 2ndly if you like a certain style it doesn't make you a more hardcore fan, it just makes you a fan of a particular style. a lot of people can see what and why Rigondeaux is good but that doesn't mean they can watch more than a few rounds of it without being bored.

I had no idea until like Thursday that ALL those fights were coming on this past weekend. A great night of boxing but putting the cards on the same night is a waste of money.....even stacked cards barely break half a mill views.
