Comments Thread For: Burns-Crawford Heading To The Hydro on February 8th

The Glasgow Evening Times reports that Ricky Burns' mandatory defense of the WBO lightweight championship will land on February 8th at the Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The venue holds 13,000 fans. It was reported on krikya360.com a few days ago that Burns' promoter, Eddie Hearn, reached an agreement with Top Rank for a mandatory defense against undefeated Terence Crawford (22-0, 16KOs). Burns (36-2-1, 11KOs) will return for the first time since suffering a broken jaw in his twelve round draw against Ray Beltron in September. [Click Here To Read More]

Great venue. Been a couple of times, and I think it will be brilliant for a boxing match.

Crawford will need to stop Burns. There's 0 chance that he'll get a decision in his favour.

I like Crawford but I really feel that Beltran should get his rematch before this fight takes place. On the flip side if Beltran got his rematch this fight would not be happening. It would be Beltran vs. Crawford cause Burns would be done.

Looking forward to this, but feel bad for Beltran. I hope the winner grants him a shot as he deserves that pay day.

That aside, it'll intetresting to see what Burns has left and if it's enough to deal with Crawford, different style and all.

Wasn't Beltran the mandatory to burns when they fought? If so how can Crawford be another mandatory fight? Doesn't burns have a voluntary defence before he takes on another mandatory? Because it does seem unfair on Beltran.

The UK? He's gonna have to TKO/KO him to win.
